Delay in recording question

Delay in recording question

My new IP2M-841HD is pointed outside into my cul-du-sac. What I have experienced is an apparent delay before recording starts. I have the entire bottom half of my screen set to just about the most sensitive and lowest threshold so I thought even a squirrel would set it off. The left side of my screen viewing area is also that same region with the most sensitive settings. The recording only starts when someone gets to my drive way and not 50 feet before where the camera also views. Shouldn't this camera start recording down the street where the camera sees and not when the vehicle is halfway to my house? Also, I had movement when someone walked on my sidewalk but after the 30 second setting there was no more recording - even though the person surely was "on camera" and moving on the other side of the street walking away. Why was there not at least another motion event triggered after the initial 30 second trigger when they were walking away. *Yes they had to have walked away even though I wasn't there to see it.

Hello Bradbury,

I see that you have set the sensitivity to the highest and threshold to low so it should have triggered even a small movement. You can try using the pre record and record delay options under video detect settings. This would start record before the event and continue to record for few more seconds after the event ends.

Where is there a "pre record" option in the video settings screen?

I have the same question. There is no Pre-record in the NVR config settings. Where is this that everyone is talking about?

It should be under Settings > Storage > Record Control > Pre Event Record.
