Cannot reset camera

Post by mfd229 »

Hey everyone, hoping I can get some help here. Tried calling support, but they couldnt figure out that the camera they were trying to tell me to reset wasn't the camera I had... waste of 20 minutes before they hung up on me.

So, I have the IP2M-851 and I am trying to get it connected. I have been holding down the reset button for minutes at a time and my LED2 is solid red. While I hold the reset button, it will blink red for about 5 seconds before going solid red again. Any ideas?

Hello and welcome to the Forum

While I don't own your camera and I can't see what your doing and what is going on I can try and help...
I would Uninstall the APP on your phone and reinstall it at this point. Then move on.
So first when you reset the camera I am going to guess that you have the camera at your Desk or somewhere close to your computer and router? At this time please plug it into your Hub, Switch or Router via cat5

With Dome off Press and hold the Reset Button and hold it for 45 seconds. Then ignore the lights for 2 minutes after letting go of the button. After 2 min the cameras lED should be Green.

Then bring up the APP on your phone and press the + to add a camera. Click add wifi camera, click on Ethernet wifi setup. It then will tell you to Connect included ethernet cable from router to camera and wait 10 secs until camera turns green tap next.

At this point make sure your Smartphone or Tablet are connected to your WIFI on a 2.4g connection not a 5G it needs to be a 2.4g Then it will ask to scan your cameras code click ok or you can press the Enter S/N Manually At this point you have the S/N in your smartphone either by scanning the code or entering it press next it will come up asking for a Password to your Router on the SSID that your smartphone is connected to. Enter that. This is not the Cameras password but the one for your wifi connection of your SSID.

Also at this point if your system is setup like mine you will want to either open ability to access the network or log into your Router and give your camera access to the network. For my system I have my router to Reject any connection that I don't approve and will make the camera unhappy until given access.

Hope you find this somewhat helpful and able to get your camera up and running. Don't forget once your camera has been reset the Admin and pass have been reset to default password of admin.
