Can't view video stream over remote

Post by mikebannis »

Hello. I'm trying to get my first Amcrest video camera up and running. Don't remember the exact model, but simple indoors 1080p that rotates. Hooked up to wired ethernet. It works fine in the house from cell phone or the browser app directed to the ip address. I have port forwarding setup on both the router and the modem for http, tcp, and udp. I can access the camera remotely (from work, cell phone hotspot, etc), but the video feed says: "resources are limited, failed to play video stream". The video works fine on my cell phone from anywhere.

I've tried dialing the the video quality WAY back (vga, 5 fps), no luck. Canyouseeme.org shows the http and tcp ports being open, but the udp port is always closed, regardless of the port number I set it to. I'm not sure if it is somehow being blocked or if the camera is just ignoring it. From what I understand udp isn't really needed anyways.

Any thoughts? Thank you,

Mike
