I have 2 IPC-842B's install and hooked up to a network. Now when I first get the system up and running anything works well on a Mac. I get play back through a NVR setup on a Windows laptop. Now After about a few hours the cameras become locked. Now I do have the cameras on 2 iPhone as well and they all have the same passwords used during initial setup. Now why is causing this and how do I remove the Locked status without having to hard reset the cameras?
Also on the iPhone's, I do have them set up as to notify me on motion detecting but when the notifications go off they do not send a picture or a recording. Just wondering why this is. It does go to a live view but most of the time it has passed and can see anything going on unless I go to the playback option and view it that way, which is kind of a pain.
Now so far I am not impressed with the software that these cameras use. The biggest pain I have is these cameras locking up. Now the cameras are great picture and quality but the cameras need to stop locking and better integration. Now the app on the phone should just directly connect to the Mac instead of using the app to just gain access to the cameras instead. Now if someone can help with these that would be great. Great customer service is the only thing that is gonna let me recommend these camera to my other customers. I am an installer for these and this is by far the most complex system to install. The software seems to be great if you only have one camera installed instead of 3 on my current system. Again all help would be greatly appreciated.
Cameras always locking and more
Re: Cameras always locking and more
Hello ffjwhite,
So the cameras continue to work from the phone but locks up on the computer? If you use Amcrest Surveillance Pro, make sure you have the correct username and password for the cameras in Surveillance Pro. Same applies to any phone app you use. When they attempt to connect to the camera multiple times with wrong password/username combination they lock up.
The push type 'live view' is the most reliable option currently. We apologize for the inconvenience and would be investigating on this issue further.

Re: Cameras always locking and more
Thanks for the reply, However the cameras lock on all platforms. The issue happens to be mainly with the back camera and locks all the time. The others did lock and after a power reset they continue to work. Now the cameras have all the correct passwords and users names however only 3 devices try to access them. Now is there a way to reset the cameras lockout without having to do a factory reset? The other 2 cameras seem to reset just by unplugging them and powering them back on. The only way I have been able to reset the other one is pull the camera down (which is hard and in a high place) and do a factory reset. I can not be able to do this on a daily basis.

Hello ffjwhite ,
Usually a power recycle should fix the account locked out issue. If its happening frequently on that camera, it might be a faulty device. You can try replacing the device.
