Camera IP2M-841B purchased used -RESET PASSWORD
How do I reset the user name and password if the previous owner (a friend) does not know his user name and password. He has no proof of ownership either. I would like to test this camera and consider adding multiple cameras.

Hello and welcome to the forum
So just to know before hand admin and admin is the default password and user name...
TO Reset the 841 there is an LED on the back That LED is also a Reset Button... After camera has been running press and hold the Reset button this can take 20 to 30 seconds sometimes it is as fast as 10 seconds but you will know because the camera will Flash the LED and the camera will start to rotate for startup checks... Once it is done with startup the light should go from red to green if you have it connected to your network.. Then log into your camera at what ever IP that Router gave the camera.. admin user and admin password.. It might ask you to set a password or might not.. However you can set it up over the App on a iPhone or Android it is called Amcrest View Pro.. Setting it this will help you setup for Wifi.. However if you are within range I would really use it over Cable because it will be stable...
