BUG/Workaround: IP2M-841: Web Playback/Video Download Broken

Post by Malathion »

I'm unable to get playback working on two IP2M-841s, using two different laptops running Windows 10 using any browser. Video is recording and I can view them view the Android app and Surveillance Pro. Clicking on the yellow areas or on a video file from the list view does nothing. Clicking on the Download icon just hangs at 0% and does nothing as well. Running the browsers in administrative mode doesn't work either. Called into support who TeamViewer'd into my computer and essentially said, "It just won't work. Use Surveillance Pro."

Using the newest firmware on both cameras, FireFox, IE and Chrome. Also using two brand new 32GB flash cards.

Please advise.

I am also having these same types of issues. I can get my stream thru my IPhone either thru the local ip address or thru my external ip address.

I am running on Windows 10 Version 10.0.10856 Build 10586 with an AMD FX-8350 CPU and 16 Gigs Ram and a 100meg Fiber Connection ISP.

I have the 720P Pan and Tilt wireless IP Camera

I have Chrome Version 49.0.2623.112 m, and it will not allow 3rd party addons. If you go to the Chrome.Google.com Webstore and download the App, It will install and then ask you to launch. It acts like it is going to launch and then nothing.

Camera info:
Software Version2.420.AC00.11.R, build : 2016-01-06
WEB Version3.2.1.318298
ONVIF Version2.4.1

Firefox Version 45.0.2 will allow you to enter user:password and then it states that Resources are Limited, Failed to play video stream.

Internet Explorer Version 11.212.10586.0 Pops open a Security Alert asking you to allow the WebActiveX Module from AMCrest Technologies LLC, you have to click the security box 3x and allow it outside IE's Protective Mode. Then you can log into the camera and get the Video Stream and be able to change settings.

Microsoft Edge Version 25.10586.0.0, after you have logged into the camera will ask you to download and install the plug-in, which will take you to the chrome.google.com webstore and you will get an alert that you will need google chrome to install most apps. If you click the Available on Chrome button, It will try to download Chrome.

The IP Config Software downloads, installs, and works correctly with all browsers.

Downloading:
Firefox - I notices that the website (amcrest.zendesk.com) does not supply identity information or ownership information. I also noticed at one point earlier today that I was getting an error for a non complete download due to a security certificate. Either AMCrest has not had their software verified or certified to be used on a Microsoft Computer system or they have some poor programming habbits.

AMCrest_Surveillance_Pro_Setup.exe will download correctly but SmartScreen stops it. If you click more info, It will allow you to run anyways from and Unknown Publisher. (Please note this in the Agreement: 2) Due to the differences and complexity among software and hardware, Provider does not guarantee that the Software will be compatible with all software and hardware systems, and it will operate properly under those conditions or meet your expectation.) Nice! It will install properly, and it will view the camera from within their own software.

QCAM--SmartClient Windows v6.1.2.7.exe installs correctly and but will not launch correctly. But when you goto the SmartClient Download & Setup Tutorial Link, It give you the option to download the Smart Client Windows V6.1.3.exe which is 4 versions older than the latest version.

-------------------------------------------------

Bottom Line, I want the ability to be able to view my webcam at my property from any computer anywhere without the need to install additional addons or software for the different browsers. These habits promote the potential risk of having your username and password made available to any user of that computer and the possibility of them being able to gain access to your network thru the webcam's wireless connection.

I want to use your product because it has the ability to pan, tilt, and zoom. I will be using them on my farm to watch sick, pregnant, or injured horses while they are enclosed in their stalls to make sure that I can call a vet or alert someone else so that I don't have to walk into a worst case scenario.

For the record, Live playback works fine. It's just playback from the SD card that doesn't work from the Web Interface. Doesn't work on three different computers running Windows 10. I'll try OSX later.

Is there anyone from Amcrest Support on the Forums that can assist with this?

Hello Malathion,

I see you already tried running the browser as administrator. This usually fixes this issue. You can try clearing the browser cache and restarting it. For some customers a hard reset of the camera fixed issue, even though that is not the most convenient solution.

I'm having the same problems. I'm unable to do playback or download videos via web. I've tried on IE, Firefox and Safari on windows and mac. Also preset positions seem to not be working. I've tried factory resets and running firefox as admin. I'm coming up on 30 days and am about ready to return the camera unless I can get these fixed.

I've got the same firmware version numbers as well.

Hello,

Have you tried using the Amcrest Surveillance Pro software? The play back should work fine in this software even through it fails with the web interface. The download link is below.

I can view recorded video via Surveillance Pro and the Android App, just not via any browser which of course is feature I'd like to use--it's a big reason I purchased these particular cameras.

Not working on 4 different computers, 2 running Windows 10, one running Windows 8.1 and one running Mac OSX. I have tried power cycling numerous times as well as resetting the devices to defaults after the firmware update. Called into Support as I mentioned earlier, they left me hanging. Figured I might have better luck on the boards.

Thanks for following up, Melvin!

Thanks for the suggestion. That worked once I figured out that the program's login wasn't my camera's user name and password. ;-)

Now I've got to find a way to convert davs to mp4. Again thanks you saved me dealing with a return. I hope this web thing gets fixed.

My problem is on both the app and the IP Config tool - neither will play saved video. The app says there are no recordings. The desktop program shows the recordings but won't play them.

I am also unable to download the files....it starts but never moves off 0%

I tried running the browser as admin....no luck.
