Buffalo NAS - AMCREST T1179EW

Post by spartan728 »

Hi I recently purchase the Amcrest T1179EW and I'm able to map my buffalo NAS to the camera? Is there special instructions for the Amcrest pro software to tie into the buffalo NAS platform?

I've search the forums here and this seems to be an issue for others.

Thank you

Hello and Welcome to the forum...

For NAS you want to tie the Camera to the NAS not ASP.. With ASP you can use that software to view things that are saved to your NAS Drive...

Correct. I want to be able to save video recorded from the camera and unable to. I have added the ip of the buffalo nas. The camera does not create folder on Nas which leads me to believe that it's authenticating.

I have a WD NAS so this may be completely irrelevant to your Buffalo model but when I was experimenting with saving using the NAS option, I discovered that I had to include "/nfs" in front of the remote directory name. Almost as if the NAS firmware needed to be informed of the network protocol that was being used so in my case the setting that worked was "/nfs/cameras" (cameras being the name of the share on the NAS).

I moved to using FTP instead of the NAS option in the end due to the ludicrous folder structure that the NAS option was creating with a new folder every minute. Probably just the firmware version on my camera but it was totally crazy.

If your NAS runs an FTP server I would suggest using giving that a try.

Thanks! I your suggestion and unfortunately the camera is picking the Buffalo NAS. It's suppose to create a folder on per camera on the NAS share but just won't past thru. All the UDP ports are failing for some reason. I use google wifi at home so it might be on the router side.
