Is there a trick to getting clean audio from a IP8M-T2499EW ?
Ive randomly tried the available compression settings and bitrates but cant seem to clean up the "swishy" compression artifacts. Im using a browser in Windows.

Re: Audio from IP8M-T2499EW
...or the audio sounding like you are in the middle of a babbling brook just what everyone accepts?
Re: Audio from IP8M-T2499EW
How are you powering the camera? Have you tried different cable? have you tired different power source? Just ideas that come to mind..

Re: Audio from IP8M-T2499EW
@patric I've never tried the audio out on any of my cameras until now but I thought I have a play around and from the results I got just experimenting, I'd say that audio is definitely not a strong point of the camera
.
I got the best results by choosing G.711A encoding and disabling filtering. After I had disabled the filter, it did introduce what sounded like mains hum but it got rid of the burbling water effect you describe.
If it was me and I really needed audio I think I'd be looking at some sort of independant audio system.

Just a Thought... I am going to guess it is the Computer that he is using and that he said he is using blue Iris? This is just an idea. Also we have to think about a few things with this camera as well as other camras... Like in the review they were talking about FPS and dropping the Rate.. I am also going to guess that having a Higher Frame rate over all with help with Audio Quality as well.. I know you have a 8mp camera and want to record in 8MP sadly at that things can suffer...
I am going to guess if you try dropping the Frames that will make the audio better... Please note this is a guess..

Re: Audio from IP8M-T2499EW
Ill try disabling the filtering. This particular camera is powered by an Amcrest PoE+ switch, viewed by either an NVR HDMI output or an IE browser (no Blue Iris) exhibiting the same funky audio. Re: Audio from IP8M-T2499EW
Just an Idea I would try the Main stream back down to 16000
However I am running a different Encoding on my lower MP camera and my Frame Rate is at 25 so maybe that is why I get clear sound. If I turn off filter it is really blasting...

Re: Audio from IP8M-T2499EW
Turning off filtering clears up a lot of compression artifacts (not all) but makes the background tone brighter.
Maybe in the future Amcrest will make filtering variable instead of just on/off.
I can tolerate a little city din in exchange for not having the waterworks effect. Thanks!
