ASH43-W ... default password not working

Post by kfh227 »

I currently have the camera hard wired to the network. My laptop is hard wired. My phone is connected to network via wi-fi.

I verified the IP address in both my router's web page and the Amcrest IP Config application (Windows)

I have done a hard reset on the camera (hold button 20 seconds till turns red ... then eventually green again)

I've disabled my VPN software (only on laptop)

I can not connect to the camera using the default password of admin/admin. Also, admin/888888 doesn't work (I read that this will allow admin access possibly). I've tried this on my phone, with Amcrest Surveilence Pro and the Amcrest IP Conig tool.

I also assumed the camera has a web portal and trying to connect to the IP on port 37777 in Chrome does nothing.

I am at a total loss.

EDIT: Just found a tidbit. Hold the reset button till camera blinks orange .... so it goes from green to red to blinking orange?

I followed these directions:
https://support.amcrest.com/hc/en-us/ar ... set-ASH43-

I never saw blinking green no matter how long I held the reset button down.

I tried releasing while orange was blinking. While orange turned solid. And held it till orange solid (after blinking ended) turned red.

SOLVED!

OK, the factory reset I did worked. I waited for the light to change from blinking orange to solid orange and let go of reset.

Then this:

So you have to use the app on your phone!

Select wi-fi setup because wired seems to not work for some reason.

And when you get to wifi setup select a 2.4 GHz channel!

There, 3 hours later and it's done! LOL Now to get it working on my Synology NAS.
