That isn't how that works.
While I don't know Amcrest Business model, There is no way someone should be posting demands about how something SHOULD be. Amcrest is a Hardware provider and out of the kindness of their business mind they put this Forum where people could get some help maybe even to help keep the Support lines open to issues that are even larger then a fast question about how to make a fast change. Might already be on the forum from years past so users didn't even have to ask.. The Forum was here for some time before Longedge an I started to clean it up. There was so many pages of Spam in the forum in 1 format or another. This is all now cleaned out the users were banned and post removed. We have been doing this since 2019. There was a Business model idea when we started and the person that we started with is no longer with Amcrest. IT also kind of feels the idea has passed on with them. Yet Longedge and I still try our best to keep the Forum free from Spam and answer questions when we can.
So to say that someone should do something to the Forum. That isn't our place to say. I don't know what the contract is between the Web Host and Amcrest, I don't know if the Forum is part of the normal update to the Amcrest WebSite but what I do know is that it cost money to contact your host and make Demands on the Forum.. Knowing where the issue is don't help solve the problem if the problem isn't constant. The Solution is to leave the Forum as it is and we deal with the little issues it has. Or it is deemed un useable and then closed (Locked) and or Removed and no one wants that.. There are so many other Security Providers that don't offer a Forum. If they do there is little to no help or support. So I am happy to be here and try to help as I can.
Edit; Also last week there was an issue with my ability to post Pictures to the Forum. This while it might not be all the issues cleared up the ability to post pictures has been fixed. So while some issues remain they have paid the Webmaster to try and fix the issues that have been laid out for them.
Are Amcrest cameras trustworthy? Do they have dahua/hikvision chips? Do they store info on Chinese servers?

It's nice that the pictures have been fixed. Can you please have the notifications fixed? And I suddenly need to log back in just to view a different page -- if trying to post a response to a thread doesn't kick me off entirely first. The time stamp of today's posts was off by several hours earlier and may well still be....
This is very unprofessional by any standards and likely costs the forum dearly in active membership, useful participation, and ultimately sales when a prospective customer comes here for information or discussion about a particular product or feature just to experience this type of disfunction.
As someone who has been involved with various levels of forum activity since screens were black, cursors were green, and it was called "Usenet", I can tell you unequivocally that this forum needs a professional overhaul by a professional webmaster badly..., yesterday.
In its current state it is a very poor representation of Amcrest as a company. It would be easy to change that and is a shame someone doesn't feel a more urgent need to do so. A damned shame.
