I just got a new ProHD camera. To my pleasant surprise I was able to set it up and figure out how to operate it both with my Mac, iPhone, and iPad. Local and remote access work fine. I just have one minor issue:
I mounted the camera on a side wall. I rotated the image 90 degrees in the Setup screen. However, the image appears in portrait (vertical) mode. Is there a way to physically rotate the camera lens 90 degrees so the image will appear in portrait (horizontal) mode?
any way to physically rotate camera lens?

Hello davelasker ,
You should be able to adjust the image with the camera settings from a computer. Go the web interface of the camera and then go to set up > Video > Configuration and you can adjust the Flip and mirror the way you want.

Re: any way to physically rotate camera lens?
Yes I can do that do make the image appear rightside up. My problem is that the resulting image is 1920 pixels high by 1080 pixels high (portrait). I want the image to be 1920 pixels wide by 1080 pixels high (landscape). To do this requires physically rotating the sensor of the camera by 90 degrees. Is that possible.Melvin wrote:Go the web interface of the camera and then go to set up > Video > Configuration and you can adjust the Flip and mirror the way you want.
For example, in the Nest camera, the camera body can be physically rotated in its mount. Can something similar be done with the Amcrest HD camera?

I have the issue. Was this problem ever solved?
Re: any way to physically rotate camera lens?
I also have this problem. Does the camera only take portrait oriented video?

HI, just because this came up in my search for the same thing. You don't need a converter.. you don't need to flip the view in the software. Done camera came setup for wall mount, I wanted ceiling mount.
When you have the dome off the camera, grab the lens housing on the outside ring and turn it to the orientation you need. Ya it looks like it wont turn but it does.
Hope this helps, as it will help me next time I forget. LOL
