Amcrest Web View Google Chrome app -NVRs

Post by rayleaf »

Has anyone been able to use Amcrest Web View google chrome app with success with a NV4108E or NV4108-HS?

The app works great with my IP2M-841 cameras but will not work with my NV4108E despite spending many many hours/emails with Amcrest informing me that NVRs/DVRs work with this app. It continues to ask me to install the NVR plug-in (after NVR IP login input )over and over with no success (versus working immediately with a camera plug-in install once).

Even the latest May 1 you tube video ''Amcrest Web View Google Chrome App Install & Shortcuts '' by Amcrest does not mention NVRs and mentions only cameras but Amcrest continues to inform me that it works with NVRs .

Amcrest Web View version 1.0.1.4, June 2,2017

Windows 10 PC using latest Google Chrome browser.

Now being told by Amcrest that I should not be trying Amcrest Web View with Chrome for my NV4108E but should use Easy Viewer with Chrome( version 1.0.1.3 March 16,2017).

Same results with constant plug-in requests in Chrome as Easy Viewer does not work for me.

Looks like after many many hours wasted following Amcrest Support Chrome Browser does not work with chrome app extensions for NV4108E. .....Sticking to unpopular IE browser

If anyone has got Chrome browser to work on an Amcrest NVR would appreciate your comments(with Amcrest nvr model number).

I also have the NV4108E. I currently have no way to view my cameras using a web browser. I've tried Internet Explorer, Firefox ESR and Chrome. I've tried the Chrome apps Amcrest Web View and Easy Viewer. I can confirm that the apps do not work with the NV4108E NVR.

The Amcrest plugin would work on my previous computer with Firefox ESR. I just purchased a new Dell Optiplex and now I cannot view the cameras with any browser. My only option is to use the Android app on my phone.

Pretty sad that Amcrest can't provide a way to view cameras in web browsers without using a plugin. Isn't HTML5 a replacement for these obsolete browser plugins?
