Amcrest Surveillance Pro - Login Fail
Amcrest Surveillance Pro - Login Fail
I have downloaded the Amcrest Surveillance Pro onto my iMac, and installed it to use with my Amcrest 1104E NVR. When I launch ASP, then it goes straight to a login screen. When I enter my NVR's username and password, then I get the error message "Login Fail - Invalid Password". I'm expecting the ASP to find my NVR on the network and try to log me in; however, it is not working. Please advise.

Re: Amcrest Surveillance Pro - Login Fail
At several points I've had to use admin as the password for something until I've logged into that particular thing and changed the password.
I know it's dumb - but have you tried that?

Re: Amcrest Surveillance Pro - Login Fail
Hi there im sure most of yuou have searched the internet to no success on finding a way to reset the password...
And so did i..
So i took matters into my own hands and figured it out... Little bit of a hack i guess so here goes...
The method below is the correct process to trick it to reset
Go to the install folder for amcrest pro surveillance,
In that folder is a file called conf.xml
Copy conf.xml file to your desktop.
Open the file with notepad..
In the File change the following (each system has different numbers but change to what i have below..
pwd="WUBTdGh+a2hWKzJyMCNwZWE4VChGV3UpWm9RMD09PTE=" <<(Example from file)
pwd="admin" <<<(Change to this)
Save your file with the same file name of conf.xml back to your desktop overwrite if asked..
Now right click conf.xml select properties
and make the file read only by ticking the box and then hit apply and ok...
Now this makes it so the file cannot be edited...
GO back to your install folder for amcrest pro surveillance,
In that folder is a file called conf.xml delete it this time..
once deleted place or copy the file you just set to read only from the desktop and place it in the amcrest pro surveillance folder...
Now. relaunch amcrest pro surveillance,
And it will ask you to set a default password
your welcome...
There needs to be more help in regards to this as information found on the internet was slim to none.
