Ok I'm moving from ring to the amcrest doorbell. I've been trying it all week and am impressed.
My chime showed up today. Utilitec UT-7578-02. Unfortunately I cannot get it to work. I've tried wired and battery. Ive set it up the app to digital. Ive watched multiple videos. The chime does switch tunes ect. What's the best way of trouble shooting this?
I have two locations so I have another ad110 coming and for that one I ordered the Hampton bay unit on the comparability chart.
Thanks for any information

Re: Amcrest doorbell chime issue
sorry i have an old maple chase mechanical chime that works well with the ad110. your electronic door chime manual mentions a diode would need to be part of the circuit for the tune to properly work. sorry i'm not much help.
Re: Amcrest doorbell chime issue
I am going to guess that it is a Diode issue as well.. Some system require that the Switch have a Diode in play because when the Bell switch is pushed it would stop the flow of power to the Chime with the Diode it will help the Chime get the power needed even after the button is released...
So the Diode forces the Electricity to flow in one direction. for the doorbell it will help keep the flow of electricity to keep going so the chime can finish its tune. That is why some people have only power as long as the button is pushed. Once they let go it stops the flow of power needed by Chime for making it work...
Diodes don't come in the kit? If there is one in the kit I would try that.. It shouldn't matter what side the little grey stripe is on when you install it. In some cases it does matter and if when you try and use it and don't work then turn it around.. However shouldn't matter in this case I would think...

So tossed something together fast.. In this diagram it would be the Normal 16 - 24Vac Transformer to Door Bell and Switch.. This shows N F R on the Doorbell for the ones that have front and rear or might be B for back been a while since I seen one... Anyway this is for Front hook up very simple with just the Transformer wire going to N and second wire going to one side of Switch the other side of switch going to F of the door bell. Before it was that simple however now with things that last longer then just the Press of the BUTTON because really it was only a Magnetic Switch normally that would have a Spring so when you Press the Button it would PULL the Pen and hit the Tone bar then it would drop and hit the other one.. So new ones needs power to keep flowing this is not full power mind you by adding the Diode your only sending part of the wave form to the chime but the part that matters... This dirty and first drawing on a Envelope not to any scale.

Re: Amcrest doorbell chime issue
Unfortunately this project had to go on hold for a bit ill revisit it next weekend. I understand your pictures and wiring. The chime I bought was used. I put it on the test bench and all was well with a normal mechanical doorbell. Short tone till I found a diode (used didnt come with 1) then it acted as normal. Now my question is where would the diode go with the new video doorbell?

Well I am going to guess it would just be Screwed down to the Terminals on the back of the Doorbell button as normal. There have been times I have seen some odd things where it did matter the position the Stripe was on. I think that had something to do with the Internal part of the Chime it self... Last kit I installed that needed a Diode was about 4 years ago. Some Chimes will come with one incase needed
Infact that picture that was put out I was just looking over at Home depot just now and the Hampton Bay Chime kit is where that comes from CC it comes with 2 and said to put it just as the picture shows from the other poster...

Well that's what I was thinking but considering it's a camera not just a button I wanted to make sure.
Re: Amcrest doorbell chime issue
So to better understand that Diode would go on the Terminals and the wires as well. So just think of it as you have it hooked up with the Wires. Leave wires there and put the Diode in between the 2 terminals with the wires still there if that makes since

Re: Amcrest doorbell chime issue
Had some time to play around with this. To anyone that has a digital chime with diode. I would hold off on this type of install. At least for me it caused the chime just to keep going and heat up. This was on a bench. Wired as diagram showed in instructions. Tried first and working with a regular button. Maybe somone with a digital chime could chime in so to speak with there experiance. (With the diode) For now I switched to mechanical seems to work without a problem and is reliable.

@Mbur371189 , i'm using an old maple chase chimex 08040 mechanical chime and it works great and reliable but one odd thing with this door chime is i have to link it as a digital chime for it to work as opposed to a mechanical chime. linking it to a mechanical chime didn't work but linking either as a 'digital chime' or as a 'no chime' works with the maple chase 08040 mechanical chime.
