Hi, is there a tool where i can check that status of the Amcrest DDNS service, or would someone from Amcrest be able to confirm if there are any issues? Currently receiving motion detection alerts from my cameras, but unable to connect to view. Ive tried the app, web viewer, chrome, etc.. also tried to directly ping my DNS address but it does not appear to be resolving the IP.
Appreciate any help.

Re: Amcrest DDNS
Hello and Welcome to the Forum
DDNS has nothing to do with Amcrest... You are going to want to check with your DNS provider or your ISP... That is if your camera is still setup with the info in the setup still. IF you do a Factory Reset or even maybe doing a Factory Default on some cameras in close to the area of the DDNS info it might even reset that back to blank...
Then you have to ask your self how was it set up... The best way and the way I did mine is I pay my ISP to give me a Static IP.. meaning my IP will not change without me asking for the change and would have to pay for that as well. Takes time for someone to spend 5 min to set it up lol...
Anyway the other way and most ways that people do it is by using a DNS services like NO-ip.com or DDNS.net and such the like... Some offer a free account some you have to pay for... Then you will have a address you can go to and the camera and the service talk to one another so they always know what your current ip is so it resolves to the right address when you try to reach your server... IF you are on Port Forwarding that was setup then that is different thing all together and if you don't have some way to keep track of what your ISP ip address is then you can loose connection until the next time you figure out what your internet IP is...
Sorry your question has loads of different configuration types and can't see the camera to tell you what it is one way or the other...
TO BE HONEST it is safer to just use the P2P that the camera has in it.. It most likely already turned on because it comes on by default... THere is no Ports to open or IP address to remember or servers to get names from it just like Magic and works lol... SOmeone said it isn't secure I can tell you that I have done testing and it is more secure then having my Password to my camera stored on someones server waiting for me to log on over their services... I did loads of testing and there is No Plain Text View of your Password being passed when you make a connection from anywhere..

Re: Amcrest DDNS
Not sure about the functionality as I don't use ddns but " amcrestddns.com (74.50.108.26) " is responsive as far as I can see.
