Admin account is locked
My admin account is locked. I could not log back in after updating the system. How do I unlock the admin account?

Go into your DVR under the 88888 account. The password should be 888888 (this is the default). Create a new admin user calling it whatever you want.
1. Settings --> System --> Account
2. Click Add User
3. Create new user as an admin account
4. ***Check the Reusable box***
***Make sure you check the "Reusable" box in the upper right hand corner or else no other devices will be able to use that ID except for the first device to login with the new ID.***
I'm assuming you have the 720p HDCVI camera set.

Good Afternoon Valued Customers,
We understand that some of you guy's DVRs have locked accounts and are unable to log in with an error code "Account is Locked".
We know this is a constant issue with some customers forgetting their Passwords or the account is just not going through for some reason.
The purpose of this feature is protect the user from any unwanted users getting into your system, so this is a feature that is mandatory for all DVR users.
To unlock the account one will have to call our Technical Support Team, by the number of 888-212-7538, and one of our Support members will be happy to give you a SuperPassword. This Password will change daily, so no two passwords will ever be the same each day.
The purpose of this password is to allow access only for one day, enough for the user log in & go in to their account settings and change their passwords so they remember them.
If you ever have this issue again Pleas feel free to call in or Email our Support Staff and they will be happy to assist you in acquiring this superpassword.
Again, our analogies for the inconvenience of this feature, its just something that must be done to protect our users from getting easily hacked.

I have been locked out of admin account. I have called support every day for the past week they keep giving me a password for yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Nothing is working. I have been going back and forth with support and they all ask the same questions give me passwords and nothing is working. I'm very disappointed because I have bought 3 amcrest units, 2 of which are on this system, and I have recommended customers to amcrest and I'm very unhappy to see that I cannot get in my system and that it appears that I will have to replace the amcrest system and I wasted over $1200 for nothing. Somebody please help!!!

How were you accessing the DVR unit prior to being locked out?

If you're logged in from another location, it prevents a second login from being done; I added the camera to Blue Iris, and used the admin user account in the configuration. When I tried to log in from a browser window, it said the account was locked.
After exiting Blue Iris, it allowed the login again.
I'll add another user to use for blue iris instead.

I have been lock out also - without any apparent reason. The error reads "Account locked for 20 minutes...."
After waiting 20 minutes the account is still locked. After waiting another 20 minutes I am getting the same error. Why is this happening? Why does the unit not reset after 20 minutes?

Hello JohnT,
Please ensure that all the devices with the app has the correct login credentials for the camera. Please try unplugging the camera from power and plug it back in. If you are still having issues connecting to it, you may have to hard reset and start all over.

There sure seems to be a lot of issues with the account being locked out. I have been in my account, set up the camera, had it record, viewed the recordings and now my account is locked out and I get account does not exist. Seems to me that if I can set up the camera through your web app, and view it after it saves it to my machine, then low and behold. . . . .
I have not logged in with the wrong password, I did not for get the password, the account was working, and the issue would not be the software used at my end since it would be your software, the issue would be at YOUR end. having to reset the camera and set everything up again, (and possibly repeated times) is not an option nor what I would have expected from Amcrest.

There are tons of problems. I haven't had any stability for the week I have owned this camera. All apps SUCK! I called customer support, they're closed. I can't see anything through any applications, they work when they want, they don't when they don't. Ill try to troubleshoot, but if you are trying to DIY and are not a system's administrator you are far better off going with a fully supported support system. Own a $500,000 house, don't trust its security to a $150 camera.
