I've got the NVR NV4108E that supports up 8 3MP cameras. Currently running 4. I would like to add a wifi camera that is connected to the router supporting the nvr. Using the monitor interface for camera/device search i was able to find and add the camera. i then changed the password so it matches the nvr password. status shows red. no way to take a screen shot of the monitor, so i'll switch to web interface for that. on my poe cameras the channel and port have the same number. for the wifi camera which ended up on channel 5, the port is 37777. really not sure where the problem is. Also added the connection menu accessing the camera directly. anybody help.

Re: adding wifi cameras to poe nvr
I don't have a NVR, but I would say you have a password problem. Your post says you changed the wireless camera password using the NVR interface. You can't do that according to the NVR Quick Start Guide. It says
"Changing the password for your IP cameras can only be done by accessing them individually through their built-in interfaces by using their IP addresses. It cannot be done through this NVR. The NVR will only accept the current username and password to be able to pull the stream through."
See page 20-23. It looks like a good description of how to add a device. Let me know if this helps.

Re: adding wifi cameras to poe nvr
jack7 - thanks again. it was a password problem but there's a bit more to it than just the password. i had 2 problem cameras, 1 was a wifi connected to my routers ssid. the second was a poe that i added after the initial setup. and both had different passwords from prior use.
first i got the wif camera to work. i noticed on the monitor screen that the password was invalid. no clue at all from the web interface. i tried several ways to change the password - on the nvr using the edit function and using ie to access the wifi ip individually and eventually got it to work. don't remember the sequence but it could have been changing the password by accessing the camera individually as you mentioned. I definitely remember going back to look at the password to find it had not been changed. And I feel that once I made the correct change, it took a minute of two to trickle through. Just a feeling and i'm not going to spend the time verifying it.
the poe camera had another twist to it. the nvr sets up it's cameras in a separate subdomain. the wifi was in the same domain as the router so it was easy to access via it's ip address. the poe cameras, being in a separate domain can't be accessed that way. i thought about plugging my laptop into 1 of the poe ports on the nvr but thought getting 48 volts feed into my laptop wouldn't be good. Maybe with a poe spliter it would work ok.
the nvr via settings/remote/camera does allow you to start a poe web inteface to the camera individually. the poe camera is added to the list pretty much automatically. however changing the password, via individual access, still did not work. so in frustration, i pulled the plug to the nvr powering it off, went and got a glass of wine - a big glass mind you and then came back and powered up the nvr.
magic, everything worked. but i did notice the poe camera came up with a different ip address. so my guess is the rebooting caused buffers to get flushed and now the password took. again, i'm not going to verify this.
instead i will refill my wine glass. hope this post might help someone else.
