Adding Doorbell AD110 to Amcrest View Pro 2?
Has anyone successfully added their doorbell AD110 to Amcrest View Pro 2 app? I get an error, "This device type is not supported in the current area. Stay tuned." I selected USA region.

Re: Adding Doorbell AD110 to Amcrest View Pro 2?
Well hey.... just got my AD110 from Amazon today. I feel your pain.
I followed the steps to install the Chime Kit, Have it wired on the bench for testing.
Followed the steps in the manual, it covers physical install, then says go to the app. I got the app, so no problem.
Trying to add it using Viewpro2 app on my phone.
Sorta have to, as there is no ethernet cable to bypass wireless. Cant use my 'IP camera viewer' to find the "new" device.
First issue: Scan the QR code, it successfully gets the serial #.
Then it asks if its a wifi camera, POE camera or DVR/NVR.... Evidently the QR AND the serial # does not have this info. Wouldn't one think that the QR code would INDICATE WHAT THE DEVICE IS TO THE MANUFACTERER?
Guess not. That would seem somewhat idiotic, but I am getting used to such from dealing with ReoIink.
So a doorbell is.... A wifi camera I guess. OK. It is not POE, not a DVR/NVR. Ergo, must be wireless camera?
Next choice: Set up a new camera, or one that is already connected - I pick new camera. Even though it is connected, I am assuming they mean connected to the app?
New Camera it is.
Next choice- it recommends Ethernet/Wifi set up. So I choose it. OK! First instruction: Connect wire from router to Device.
This is from the people that make the product?
KInda tough for a camera/doorbell with NO ETHERNET CONNECTION!
OK, Wireless it is. Next screen: 1)connect device to power 2) Make sure there is Wifi near the device. Done, and Done.
Hit next.
Says PLEASE enable my GPS service to get SSID. WTH does the doorbell need my GPS coordinates for?? Marketing?
OK, enabled for now. Hope the Chinese overlords get my address wrong.
NOW it can see my home network. Great! Now I turn OFF the GPS, insert PW, and wait...
So glad I was able to supply a GPS location for my router that I am now putting in the password to.
Thanks a PANTLOAD Amcrest.
Darn. I guess turning off the location disabled it. Unless they can get my EXACT location, my SSID, Password all in one basket. OH well, lets give marketing, and any hackers, my data. THEN see if I can actually use the device after giving up privacy.
Now its telling my Dual band fails to support 5G wifi. And.... Doesn't this run on 2.4G anyway?!?
""Supports 2.4GHz WiFi Networks, Does Not Support 5GHz Networks"" (https://amcrest.com/2mp-wifi-camera-doorbell-ad110.html ~12 'bullets' down)
OK, this is a 'one size fits all' type of thing. OK.
Hit the 'set wifi' tab, and it goes to MY phone wifi setup. Not the device.
OK, so now I have given my location.
It sees my network.
I put in password.
My phone is connected to the same wifi network.
It continues to tell me my dual band router does not support 5g. Even though my other 5G devices work fine and are connected.
Hit next anyway.
Another 120 second wait.....
Again... FAILED TO CONNECT. 'There was an issue connecting with WIFI. Please try again, or use Ethernet Wifi setup.
Yeah... on the device with no ethernet port.
I was SO happy finding a doorbell that was NOT cloud based. And I Have been much happier with Amcrest than ReoIink.

IF it matters at all, I went and got a doorbell kit from HD. (https://www.homedepot.com/pep/Defiant-W ... /322882049)
Our house never had a doorbell, nor was wired for it. So I figured it would be great if we had a cheery 'ding-dong' in the house, and this seemed to be the best time to add it.
Well.... press the button with all wires connected... and the new doorbell kit does not go 'ding dong' . it does when manually activated, so the doorbell unit is fine. THE AD110 makes noise. On my porch.
I am HOPING that the indoor bell will ring once device is set up. Otherwise it is a return. A doorbell has one job: ALERT THE INSIDE OF THE HOUSE TO A VISITOR.
I will hear them shouting louder than the AD110 on the porch.
I see @TreeLeaf was successful with the Viewpro app. I am loading that on my phone, and see if THAT will allow setup on the AD110.
Will update. But ANY assistance welcome. Show me how I am overlooking something, please.

Re: Adding Doorbell AD110 to Amcrest View Pro 2?

Installed the 'View Pro' (1?) app.
It freezes on the welcome page.
View Pro 2 doesn't work with the AD110, as @TreeLeaf had discovered before me.
The 'fresh from the google play store' View Pro (1?) is no good. At least on my phone.... but VP2 works fine, on other cameras. Just not the AD110.
I can get screenshots off my phone if that helps. Just a PITA getting them from the phone to PC, so I have used verbose description.

*sigh*
My wife was SO happy when I managed to hook up both IP2M-841 cams, and have them to watch our house on NYE. (THANKS @Revo2Maxx !!)
She is now distressed that 3 hrs, one new doorbell kit, the AD110 and two apps.... No doorbell cam and me swearing like a sailor again. (She asked if it was a ReoIink cam!

Glad we can be the beta testers out here. THANK GOODNESS for this forum. The instructions available are as weak as a thrice used teabag.
Re: Adding Doorbell AD110 to Amcrest View Pro 2?
Well... downloaded and tried 'Amcrest Surveillance Pro' to try to add the AD110.
How did you do it?
I tried using the search to see if it could locate the AD110.
The search found NO amcrest cams on my network. There are 2 active now.
I manually inserted one, and it was seen by the program. I could live view.
But even with one manually entered, searching again was fruitless. It couldnt even find the camera that it was logged on to.
On my phone, I have been using VP2 for Amcrest cams, and using P2P have been VERY happy. On the PC laptop, I have been logging directly into the camera. I was HOPING there was software like ASP for the cameras.
I have found the GUI is.....lets say non-intuitive to be polite.... but will keep plugging away.

Re: Adding Doorbell AD110 to Amcrest View Pro 2?
Ok, thanks to search there is a partial answer... https://amcrest.com/forum/web-user-inte ... tml#p38409
@Revo2Maxx - ""The AD110, 410, ASH21, ASH26 and ASH42 with other Smart Home Products don't have a WebUI that one can log into. They are Smart Home products. Once you setup the AD110 you might be able to use the Amcrest View Pro app to view the camera over the Local network..""
and
""RTSP feeds would be the Doorbells setup info used to setup the system when it was setup with the Amcrest Smart Home app.""
So.... on to trying the Amcrest Smart Home App. Will report back.
But unfortunately, looks like returnville for the AD110 otherwise. I hope this isnt so...

Re: Adding Doorbell AD110 to Amcrest View Pro 2?
OMG... reading the latest comments about the ASH app.... Might as well can that idea. Sigh.
(edit - I tried anyway... wants login, email... Said F dat. I bet it STILL wont see the AD110.
)
Unless there is an answer here, back goes the doorbell cam. Darn it. Its going to be a PITA to get this all back to 'new' looking.

Re: Adding Doorbell AD110 to Amcrest View Pro 2?
Well, got it all packed up.
I will wait a few days on the return to see if there is an answer here, hoping for late Sunday (here...) answers is not reasonable.
Here is hoping support comes through. This forum is on Amcrest.com, I would hope they at least glance at it.

Re: Adding Doorbell AD110 to Amcrest View Pro 2?
Seems to be doorbell only issue. Seeing I can add my other ASH line of cameras to AVP2
Keep in mind that the AVP2 is newer then it was last month and was able to add the doorbells in the other AVP2. The new one I can't add Ad110 or Ad410 to AVP2 but all other cameras from Smarthome can be added. Next when the Smart home first came out couldn't add any of the SH to AVP.. So it might be updated to let in the Doorbell in some new App update in the future. But really other then just for Monitoring why would it matter? Can't answer the doorbell with that app have to use SH app for aswering the doorbell anyway.. Plus like having the other app for fast access to SH line where I don't have to pick from a list of Ip cameras looking for one of the SH line.. But not everyone has as many camears as I do either..

Re: Adding Doorbell AD110 to Amcrest View Pro 2?
But late last night I did find another POE doorbell cam that is WAY off the radar.. IMO.. (https://linovision.com/products/hd-vide ... com-door01)Revo2Maxx wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2025 11:57 pm Seems to be doorbell only issue. Seeing I can add my other ASH line of cameras to AVP2
Cool! So might just be software lagging product.

My first exposure to AVP2, and Amcrest overall. Is there a way to get the previous version of AVP2, or is that advisable?
So to add to my previous statement, really looks like software issues.![]()

That last line... "Cant answer the doorbell with the AVP2 app".. I can talk 2-way with my Amcrest IP2M-841W-V3 from the AVP2 app. But the doorbell being "SH" evidently does not allow? If so, THANKS for the heads up! The doorbell had (3) tasks - 1) Ring the exisitng inside bell unit 2) let us see who/what is there and 3) Speak with them. Looks like the AD110 only does one of them.![]()
Plus like having the other app for fast access to SH line where I don't have to pick from a list of Ip cameras looking for one of the SH line.. But not everyone has as many camears as I do either..
I am only at 16 (?) cameras, with BI being my environment of choice (ATM) and looking into Frigate/Home assistant on a Debian box. I am a total n00b on linux, just getting my feet wet. Just loaded Debian onto an old laptop two days ago to start to get used to it. Plan to have a mini computer (HP EliteDesk 800 G6 Mini ) running 24/7.
I am calling them soon, as they are a time zone over and just opening. Will report back.
THANK YOU!!!!
Re: Adding Doorbell AD110 to Amcrest View Pro 2?
Update! For those who might follow...
BE SURE THAT THE CAMERA YOU BUY HAS WHAT YOU WANT!! IF it says 'Amcrest Smart Home' ... BEWARE. I will be even more careful reading from now on. I am having to return the AD110 for not paying attention. Gotta love Prime... great CYA.
Chatted with David at Linovision. I had called the sales number (by accident..
) and then the correct support number.
No answer on either, but they called back!!
The camera DOES have a web interface, and is made to be compatible with many systems. Hope it works with the AVP2, but if not no biggie. Comes with Guarding Vision, an app that is compatible with P2P devices (Like all my other Amcrest cams!)
The only other option I found was the ReoIink POE doorbell. Many people (myself included lately!) thought it was the only option for POE doorbell. I got lucky and found a reference to the Linovision, and the resulting web search was fruitful. I have had NO end of frustration with ReoIink, so I was very happy to find an alternative. YMMV of course.
HUGE thanks to @Revo2Maxx for the effort put into the forum here. I see you helping EVERYONE and read you are not an employee.
