So I am not sure if your looking for IR Illumination or you looking for White light that is Low Watts?
WDR is a great feature when it is used right sadly most times it isn't.. Thing about WDR and night time is there is almost only darkness and as such WDR is kind of made for day time use.. If you have your camera in an area that needs it on at the day time most camera have the ability to setup to turn it off at night.. Now if you have a High Lit area and a Dark area then WDR can help...
I would say try a few different things on a camera that is say facing area with light and you want to use your camera in color mode HLC can help Also in Night Vision with Smart IR on and even with it all the way up using Manual Settings..
I know this camera isn't anywhere close to your Ultra MP camera but is one that I have the ability to show some different settings... Also in your Settings there is the ability to set a day and night profile if want or need WDR at day time and you choose to use HLC at night...
So I only changed the Image size to try and keep space low as most of them was over 1.6meg and the last one is still over 500KB but reduced only size all other is pure image no doctor outside of the Camera it self... I renamed them in the camera each setting is Pic name.. NV is Night Vision

Re: add low lighting to enhance WDR
So here is my Take.. I run this camera full time in HLC day and night in Color.. I have a light that is not on right now when there is motion. That light is setup to run a full 10 min so things will get captured when needed..
I have a 10w LED light that runs on 12v that is connected to my PIR and when the normal lights come on that turns on and makes for more then enough light on the driver side of the car.. With WDR in the last picture. With it on and that light comes on it is like the back porch overly bright so I use HLC full time...
So when the PIR gets motion I have 3 12watt led bulbs that face the ground in the drive on the right I have a 10Watt Spot light.. The light on the back porch is a 9watt led bulb
Edit: Also sorry there are other cameras in the area and you can see one if not 2 of them in the Reflection in the car with NV on because I have them in another area with IR on.. I have 2 that are in Color but sadly the IR comes on anyway because they are only on and off with light not by menu or there would only be 2 cameras IR's on the Driveway however now there is 4.. I keep telling myself I am going to remove them but I keep them in there to use as heaters because it does get cold here in the Winter...
Edit-Edit lol... Sorry I just remember another thought... When you make your changes you will want to have someone go check them because with Low light Night Blurr can happen because of Exposure times needed to process a Scene

Re: add low lighting to enhance WDR
HiYa Revo2Maxx,
HLC is pretty dark and I prefer color over IR, I LOVE WDR/Color modes, it is a HUGE upgrade for me. There is quite a bit of lighting in the area and when the sky is overcast, the light reflects back and I have a good range of about 300+ feet. But, like you, I have an area, I would like to boost with some type of 12v low what lighting that is near a truck. Where did you get your lighting from and do you think it was a good investment?
I think what you are calling low light night blur is the hazy image that is bothering me. While I can clearly see someone walking, I can make out a general description, but there is a blur to movement and a hazy look.
This is a small crop from a front view, which is fine for me....
Front: This is a small crop from the rear view, which is what I want to increase the lighting a bit.
Rear: Since I am in an apartment, I don't want to put other peoples cars/lives on the internet. Respectfully.
Mind you, those images are at 4AM. Pretty light with the WDR.
As always, Thanks for your help!!!

Re: add low lighting to enhance WDR
Well to be honest I got it from China off Ebay.. Funny thing was when I bought it for 8 or 9 USD I thought I can't even find a housing that I can put some IR LED in and add another IR blaster out for my PTZ that is OLD tech without IR but has ICR and well just can't get away without it.. However after it came I like the little thing so well and gave some good White light that was not Huge but gave enough light to make me happy.. Sadly I will have to take a Picture of what it looks like tonight because there is to much day light out at this hour .. I will make my son Trip the Motion around midnight.. I will do pictures of the WDR and one with HLC just so you can see why I prefer HLC over wdr and I know people like things the way they like them but for kicks Test out what HLC will do for your Night Pictures after you get your light...
Now if your looking for a stand alone light they do have the same type that comes with a Motion sensor I can't say how well the sensors are but there is that option as well.. Another thing to think about maybe.. There is a Solar light that is LED... Don't know how your Sun is around there or if where you could put it if there is enough daylight but Solar, with Motion and gives off a good amount of light it isn't 10w by any means but thought I would toss out that option as well.. I use it on my Yard side of the back for my Mini Pincher.. It is mounted about 9 ft off the ground and it she is able to make the lights go on... Reason I mention this light is because it is a 1/2 lit on stand by and full lit on motion so it will give some light even with no motion. So if you needed something that you don't want to run power to and has enough sun of 6 hours.. Another light I bought for setting up with IR because again I can't buy the housing for the cost of this and well it worked so well I didn't want to take it apart lol...
Maybe I will take it down and set it up on the other side and take pictures of both for options lol... IT is really only held by 3 or 4 screws and no wires my only reason for not installing one there as it is not enough sun it gets about 1 hour maybe 2. Then with the Trees when the leaves are on yeah no sun lol... But I will have it charge all day and move it at sun down and take pictures of it with Both WDR and HLC and then I will have my son either cover it or remove it for the test with the 10w so you can see the difference between the 2... Sadly it too is a China made Product so if you were to buy from one of the people that sale them it takes time to get them lol...

Re: add low lighting to enhance WDR
I am going to have to wait with the Light Testing I was going to do tonight, I have been called away from home and will not be home when it is dark. If I happen to get home before day light I will take some screen shots of the system as stated before... If I have to wait another day I might installed a Second Camera that is better then the one there now lol for some better ideas with what is going on, on this end...Maybe install this 3mp IP POE camera for a better larger MP image..

Re: add low lighting to enhance WDR
You mentioned the IR image was hazy, but lack of illumination would normally result in a darker picture rather than a hazy one, so I suspect some of the cameras IR illumination is bouncing off something you dont see in the picture and creating a "veiling luminance" that severely lowers your contrast (making it look soft and hazy).
You may have to reposition the camera to avoid the reflection, or treat the reflective surface with something less reflective like matte black paint, felt, or Cinefoil.

Re: add low lighting to enhance WDR
Well tonight I wanted to get at least something out about the Lights on the Garage at night... Sadly I didn't do this over my computer but rather did it on Amcrest View Pro app and this is with the Camera all the other test was ran on... So to give you an idea why I use HLC and sadly for me WDR while I love the Tech for my needs HLC works better... while you can see in the first set of pictures what it looked like with no Garage light on.. I have taken a picture with the 3 lights that are in Cans facing down. This could be Brighter however when the Garage was built and lights installed it was just to add some extra lighting wasn't thinking about different Can lights or lights that face down the drive I might make that change this year... Anyway before I added the 10W 12v light it was really enough to see down the side of the car just not easy to see a clear face shot... So added the 10w Led Spot light and it does shine for good Face Recognition if needed... SO I added one with the 10w to show how much it adds that is how it is now.. Then I had my son unplug from the other lights to take one without it.. Because it is on a Motion timer I had to install a outlet that this plugs into to make the 10w 12v work with the rest of the motion lights..

Re: add low lighting to enhance WDR
Please note this camera in no means has any quality or as High tech as your cameras...
Thought I might want to point that out as well. My camera is old tech while it was good for the time built, cameras of today are much more advanced

Re: add low lighting to enhance WDR
HiYa Revo2Maxx,
You are very kind, your cameras have a great picture.
I have tried BLC, HLC and WDR. WDR gives me a good overall color night view.
With HLC, I do not get the lighting, it just gets read dark.
WDR gives a good general view, but I tried play back of people walking a dog and it was as bad as my Foscam jpeg camera quality. I believe you referred to it as "Low light Night Blurr". Sort of a ghosting affect. I tried to add a video to this, but it is not allowed. Bummer.
Do you have any suggestions, I don't want to capture the ghost of someone up to no good?
The picture is great, if nothing moves,,,,
Maybe night vision is better after all...
Thank you and your son for your help!
