I have 14 Amcrest cameras I use to monitor a condo association property. I have 6 IP2M-842's, 3 IP4M-1026's, and 5 IP8M-2496's. My main way of using them is a windows program I wrote myself to grab a snapshot every second from each camera. That has worked well for years. However, I recently had to move one of the IP2M-842e's and had to make an adjustment to a privacy overlay that keeps that camera from looking in a resident's window. No problem, just log into the cameras UI from Internet Explorer. Right? Wrong! My PC was upgraded to Windows 11 and no longer can run IE. Edge can log into the camera's UI but won't display video. I can change many of the checkbox options from Edge, but those privacy overlays need video to be displayed in order to drag them around. I solved my immediate problem by logging into the camera's UI with an older PC that still runs Windows 10 and IE, but Microsoft is dropping support for IE 11 later this year. How can I access the camera's UI after that happens? The IP8M-2496's all work with Chrome. The IP4M-1026's also work with Chrome but only by using a Chrome App called "Amcrest Web View". However, the IP2M-842's only to work with Internet Explorer. Anyone have any ideas how handle future needs?
Thanks,
Pat
Accessing IP2M-842 UI without IE
Re: Accessing IP2M-842 UI without IE
Well you could try to add the IE app to the Edge or Chrome..
Another option for monitoring I would use ASP with that many cameras for fast access from one to another.. While it can also work some of settings in the camera as well one issue I personally have is I can't use it for Mask well. Placement issue or just don't work. So I use WebUI for that. But for fast views of cameras is great.

Adding the IE app to Edge or Chrome would be great but I have no idea how to do that.
Re: Accessing IP2M-842 UI without IE
You'll need to use IE mode in edge.
Open Edge and enter edge://settings/defaultbrowser into the browser
In the Default Browser menu, click on the "Allow sites to be reloaded in Internet Explorer mode" dropdown menu, and select Allow then click Restart to restart the browser.
Locate the IP address of the camera, then navigate back to the Default Browser settings and in the Internet Explorer mode pages section, click Add.
Enter the IP address for the camera then click Add.
Restart the browser and it should be working.

SalAMC,
Thank you! That was just the kind of thing I was looking for.

Re: Accessing IP2M-842 UI without IE
This is a follow-up to yesterday's discussions for the benefit of anyone searching for help. I followed SalMAC's instructions to add all six of my IP2M-842's to Edge's "Use Internet Explorer Mode for this URL" list. Everything works as expected. I noticed, however, that URLs in the list "expire" after 30 days. That's not really a problem since I seldom have need to reach the camera's UI. I will just need to re-add a camera to the list when I have a need to access its UI. I question the need to have items in the list expire. Microsoft seems to be saying all websites should be upgraded to be Edge compatible as soon as possible. But in this case, the website is inside the camera's firmware and will likely never be upgraded. (IP2M-842s are on Amcrest's "no longer supported" list). I hope IE Mode continues to be available as long as I need it. ...Pat
Re: Accessing IP2M-842 UI without IE
If you have enabled "Allow sites to be reloaded in Internet Explorer mode" as detailed earlier, and don't use the list, just go to Edge Web UI login page. Then click Edge 3-dot icon top right and click on Reload in Internet Explorer Mode. Then Web UI page will go to IE mode and you can login. That's the way I use it in Windows 10.
This is Microsoft's legacy support for IE and will last a long time. There are Microsoft pages that detail dates.
