960H Motion Sensitivity Settings

Post by kentJarrett »

I have played around with quite a few different settings and called the help desk twice. I have my camera really dialed in for day light hours. But at night it is way to sensitivity to changes in lights. Car heads light turning the corner 3 houses down, trigger a motion alert. When my christmas light go on and off on their timer both trigger an alert.

HELP!

Hello kentJarrett ,

Unfortunately with 960H you only have limited options for adjusting motion sensitivity. Did you try lowering the sensitivity for channels that gives the most false alarms?

I setup my new 960H a few days ago. With sensitivity set at 25, I got 55 alarm emails overnight. Out of frustration, I set it to 1 and the next night got 90 emails. Argh. Then I thought - hmmmm, why more alarms? Changed sensitivity to 50 (max) and only got a few alarms. These are probably because I change the sensitivity on a schedule, but 960H only allows changes in 6 hour blocks which don't coincide with night hours (it seems to be much more sensitive at night - due to lights?). Sounds like it works backward, but it did help me - so far.
