Hello,
I'm having an issue with my new cameras. I can connect my cameras to my 2.4G network. I can hide the SSID and it still connects. When I try to to the same for my 5G, it will connect if I DON'T hide the SSID, but if I do, it can't connect. Other devices that I have can connect to the hidden SSID. I would really like to hide my SSID since this is just for the cameras. Any ideas?
Is this by design, or a flaw? I have 3 identical cameras and they all have the same behavior. I have even updated to the newest firmware.
Cameras:
IP3M-HX2B
V2.620.00AC003.3.R, Build Date: 2019-08-03
Thanks,
Ryan
5G Hidden SSID
Re: 5G Hidden SSID
Hello and welcome to the Forum.
Haven't heard of that. So to be clear! You have set up your camera on your 5G then turned off the SSID Broadcast? After doing that the Camera no longer stays connected to your network?
Have you reached out to the Support team via Email or Phone?
This with Camera close to your Router or setup at its installed location?
Edit: So I thought I would expand a little as well... The issue of hidden SSID isn't going to offer you any added Security just so you know. Anyone with a little time and ability will still find your 5G SSID.
