Use IR mode IP4M-1051B - BUT Turn IR Lights off...

Post by TheBoulevard »

Is there any way to use the IR camera on this, but keep the IR illumination lights off?

I need to use this behind glass, and the illumination lights create unusable glare.

Thanks

Hello and welcome to the forum.

That is exactly how I use all 3 of my Amcrest cameras. I don't have your particular model but I would guess that the web user interface will be the same as mine. If you go to setup/camera/configuration you should see an option "IR Light" which you just set to "Off" and that should work for you.

In case it's of interest, I have external IR illumination setup to cover the areas that my cameras monitor. They work very well and are fully automatic coming on at night and switching off during the day.

1 x IP2M-841B firmware V2.420.AC00.18.R, Build Date: 2019-08-03

I logged in but I don't see "IR Light" I only see "IR Mode" which is Off or Auto... If it's OFF, it just uses the regular camera, I believe....

My cameras are as shown in my signature. Perhaps the WebGUI is different then. Perhaps someone else will chime in :)

p.s. - The Web GUI is indeed different to mine. Have a look at the user manual for your camera - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1X-f5xH ... sp=sharing

Section 5.4.1.6 describes IR light settings.

Sorry late to the Party lol..

So turning the IR off from the IR Light area is as Longedge has said what needs to happen. Unlike some other branded cameras that you would turn the IR lights off to keep the camera in Color mode that isn't what happens here with the Amcrest cameras. The 1051 does have when logged into the WebUI a IR Light see picture below of my 1051 area in question. This will change the cameras IRC to work in B/W at night. However if your looking to just keep the camera in the Amcrest line to Color then you can do that in the Day/Night tab and is how I keep my cameras at night in color..
