Transferring video from micro SD card to review on computer

I just bought an Amcrest 1080p camera, inserted a 32 GB micro SD card, and installed the Amcrest wifi app on my iPhone. On the app, I went to the menu at upper right, selected the camera and placed a checkmark next to it, which I gather causes it to start saving video to the micro SD card.

At this point, I'd like to close video recording to the micro SD card and transfer the video in a generic format (mp4 etc) that I can transfer to a laptop computer for further review. But it's unclear to me from the documentation on how to do this. Do I remove the micro SD card from the camera and place it in an adapter to attach to my laptop? Or do I do all of this transfer through wifi? Any step-by-step guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Are you trying to download video from he SD card to the computer? You can download the SD card recording to the computer
by logging into the cameras' web interface from your computer. You need to go to the 'Playback' interface and then click on the File list. It will list the recorded files for the days you selected. You can then select the files and download to your computer. You will have to use a seperate video played called Amcrest Smart Play to play back files. The link for the software is below.

A question about recording on the SD card AND also on the Cloud service. Can I do both simultaneously? Reason is, lets say I have an intruder and they are smart enough to cut my incoming cable line which cuts my internet. I'd like to still be able to capture video of the intrusion and access it later after the dust has settled... I scanned the owners manual for the IP2M-841 and could not discern how the recording systems function.

Hello,
It can record to the Cloud and the SD card simultaneously. It only records motion detection videos to the cloud where as you can schedule the recording to an SD card.
