Hello mrtoo ,
Its possible to get the MJPEG live feed of the camera through a CGI command. You could also get RTSP stream from the camera and play it through VLC player. Not sure about the interface you have mentioned here.

Re: Generic Browser Access
Yes, you can do the same with all Amcrest IP Cameras as well. I am the author of the above Interface.mrtoo wrote:I am considering purchasing a few Amcrest IP2M-841 ProHD 1080P. Although I have no issue with setting up the camera via the Amcrest app or plugin, is the app or plugin absolutely required to view the video? Can I set up the camera so that I can use any browser on any OS to view video. I have a FOSCAM which I was able to do so using the Free Generic Browser Interface For Foscam H.264 Cameras found at http://foscam.us/forum/free-generic-bro ... t4341.html. Can I do something similar with Amcrest? I understand FOSCAM and Amcrest are nearly the same.
The URL ("Uniform Resource Locator") for grabbing Amcrest IP Camera snapshots is:
Code: Select all
http://User:Password@DDNSorISPipAddress:Port/cgi-bin/snapshot.cgi
http://107.170.59.150/Amcrest/SecureIma ... ayZoom.htm
Note: Because Amcrest IP Cameras are using the "Basic Authorization" method in the URL to access Amcrest IP cameras. Not all Browsers support using this in JavaScript. Such as IE ("Internet Explorer") browsers. So, the use of a front-end such as php is required to support all Browsers. Which the examples shown here are doing.
Here are some other live examples using the php version of this Interface. Showing the many different ways this Interface can be used. Including the ability to show and control many different IP Cameras at the same time:

Here is a free version of the php Interface that does not support using PTZ camera controls:
http://107.170.59.150/V50/SecureImageDisplayV50.zip
A version of the php Interface that supports using PTZ camera controls can be purchased here which also includes many other IP Camera tools and utilities and 1 hour of one-on-one support to implement them:

Re: Generic Browser Access
Added Example of live Amcrest IP Camera with camera controls. Including PTZ, camera zoom and digital zoom which works with any Internet browser capable device from Computers to Tablets and Phones To TV's and never needs any plugin or download to use:
http://107.170.59.150/Amcrest/SecureIma ... ontrol.htm
You can also choose your own unique User Id and Password as well:
User:admin Password:admin
http://107.170.59.150/Amcrest/SecureIma ... lLogin.php
Note: You can use HTTPS as well. The test server running these live demos is using a self-signed HTTPS certificate so it's normal to see a warning. Which you would not see with a proper HTTPS certificate:

many thanks to TheUberOverLord
the file name is "___ReadThisFirst" text file. is that right?
The change based on your file still needs high level knowledge of computer science or Coding Farmer. It is as if climbing sky or flying over a mountain for me.
is there a much easier way to reach the goal?

If you carefully follow the instructions. It can be done without having high level knowledge.
That said, I also offer help if needed. More here:

Re: Generic Browser Access
Would something similar work to view an amcrest DVR?
I am in the military, I am not too concerned with someone getting info off of this computer to view my browsing history and hacking my camera feeds, but I also cannot download the web plug in to make viewing of my dvr work. I have a AMDV10814-4B-B DVR connected to my home router.
Any help would be much appreciated so I can view the cameras from my work.

Re: Generic Browser Access
With all due respect, as a new user I am trying to learn more about my Amcrest camera, specifically this topic of generic browser access to the camera. I have the IP4M-1025EB camera.
Unfortunately, most of the links on this page use the IP address 107.170.59.150 in the URL, and that IP address is down. ("Down for everyone, not just me"). Down from my ISP and down from various ping gateways.
Is there another way to access this information?

I too am interested in this viewer for Amcrest, I've used it in the past with Foscam but no longer have foscam cameras.HenryAZ wrote:With all due respect, as a new user I am trying to learn more about my Amcrest camera, specifically this topic of generic browser access to the camera. Could someone simplify the download link for this, as compatible with Amcrest? The thread has many, many links in it and and I can't sort them out/most of them don't load.
Thanks for the contributions and community support.
