Display Port and HDMI Connection

I have a Dell monitor that has a Display Port jack and ran a cable between the monitor and the HDMI port for the DVR.

I am not getting any video feed to the monitor via this arrangement. I've tried all the input selections for the monitor but no joy,

However, with the VGA to VGA arrangement all is well.

Does anyone have their DVR connected to their monitor via this cabling arrangement ? If so, can you advise what I may try to make it work ?

Hello,

While connected to VGA go to the menu > System > Display and change the display out resolution of the DVR. If the monitor is a Full HD monitor, change the resolution to 1920/1080P and then switch to HDMI cable and see if it works.

Not sure why that does not work. You could try all the different output resolutions and see if it works with any of them.
