Tried doing a search but forum search keeps dropping common words like 4 and 8 and DVR and I'm sure this question has been asked before. Is it possible to swap out a 720p 4chan Amcrest DVR box setup that has four existing 1280TVL (700+?) cameras with an 8ch Amcrest DVR box and keep the existing 1280TVL cameras? Am I correct in assuming the Amcrest 960H 8CH Security System box will still work with the existing older 1280TVL (700+?) cameras?
The idea is to keep the existing four cameras to add either one, or up to four, additional cameras to the existing older cameras. Using either:

I mix all of those cameras plus wifi IP cameras of various brands with this DVR:

I wouldn't risk using one of those 960H models because this one has enough horsepower and cooling to be reliable. I had an 8 port model and it had a crappy fan right over the cpu with lousy bearings (I have had three of these fail at different locations). The one above does not need a cpu fan but has a case fan and is worth the few extra bucks in my opinion even if you don't need the 16 ports.
