Can't get the plugin to work in Chrome

Postby PickyBiker » Fri Jan 19, 2018 11:17 am

Every time I browse to the camera IP address it asks me to download and install the plug-in. I have done that and I also checked in Chrome to make certain MyIPCam is installed and enabled.

When I click on the MyIPCam icon in the top right of the browser all I get is a larger version of the icon. When I right click and look at the options, all the information appears to be correct. Here are the settings.

What else do I need to do to see the camera viseo?

Enable cam 1
Cam model
Use snapshot path
c:\users\mike\desktop
Cam address http://
192.168.1.10
Cam port
37777
Cam login
admin
Cam pass

PTZ (Pan/Tilt) type
Description
Dock Camera

Try opening your cameras using Internet Explorer. The camera plugins do not work on chrome just yet. I spoke with a tech recently and getting it to work on chrome is a high priority that they are working on (no time estimate given).

Go to apps in chrome and run the amcrest app. Search chrome store and install if it isn't.

@dwoo, you do realize that Amcrest said this was a high-priority fix and promised a solution over two years ago, right? You've been lied to and it ain't gonna' happen.

"We are currently in development of plugins that will work on Chrome's newest versions, without NPAPI. The scheduled timeline for this to be available has been stated to be September." - Sat Jun 27, 2015 4:29 am

That is sad, @markplewis. It'd be nice to have a non-plugin html5 version of the camera interface by now. I guess they've abandoned that ideal in favor of the premium cloud streaming...

Seamonkey is the way to go...no fuss, no muss, no plugins...it just works!
