Have upgraded 11 IP8M-2493E cameras to the beta firmware. One camera required a second attempt after failing & rebooting during the first attempt.

Had hoped that the java update to do away with browser plugins might have been included, but alas no. Can you give us an update on when that might be forthcoming?

Hey JVRx77!

We are hard at work on the Java update for the 4k models, however, right now we are trying to urgently release the Gmail fix for all effected cameras first before continuing development resources on the Java update. We hope to have the test version of the Java update for 4k cameras in the coming weeks.

Attempted upgrade of 12th IP8M-2493E to beta firmware, appeared to be going thru all the usual steps, but the unit is bricked after reboot. It is presently flooding the local network with TFTP Read Request. From: 192.168.1.251:4027, to: 192.168.254.254:69, protocol: UDP.

Have tried the reset button inside the cam with no effect.

Any suggestions?

JVRx77,

Please reach out to us at https://amcrest.com/amcrestsupport and we can further troubleshoot the issue. Up to this point, we have no issue with the firmware bricking the camera in anyway.

I was not able to download the recorded clips from the SD card on 2496 model when using Internet Explorer. So I did the firmware upgrade. Now I dont get the list of files on the right side to select them to play back. If I press the button below (like the Back or File button in old version) the new version goes to the batch download. That button is not named. It is just a grayish bar with a bluish box in the middle. Also it looks like the 4K camera records dav files and not mp4 files.

I tried going back to the stable version. Then it says version is too low and did not revert to that stable version. Now I cant even go back to the old version. Without a way to play back the files or down load them like the 4MP camera, this 4K camera is useless for me.

Here are the images of the right side menu in the new and old versions. As you can see the File List option is not shown in the new version. There is a bluish button and if I click that button, it goes to batch download. I dont get the file list where I can double click a file to play back and also click the download arrow to download the file to my PC. Both the options are gone.
