Upon launch, text is very small

Post by [email protected] »

I installed ASP on a Windows 10 machine, and the text is super small. I tried running it in Windows 7 compatability mode and that didn't help.

Has anyone had this problem and found a solution? Thanks.

Have not had an issue with Text being small that I can remember however I might have changed my Display to 120 zoom as a Normal so I am not sure... Looks normal to me anyway...

Hi, I have the same problem. I installed Amcrest View pro on Windows 10 laptop. After launching the app the form and texts are so small to see/to read. At the moment, I have to use a magnifier to see the details. Please share with me whether you have found a workaround or a solution for this issue. Thanks.

Try Amcrest Surveillance Pro Beta (ver 2.x). Link to its thread: https://amcrest.com/forum/amcrest-surve ... 13561.html

However, I did not experience that on either version. I run at 1920x1080 with 125% magnification on a 15" monitor.

Hi,

Thank you for looking into this issue and for your reply.

The version of Amcrest Pro I used is V1.14.1 - built: 18-10-2016. I ran this app on a 14" laptop with displayer resolution 3840x2160 and 225% magnification.

I have followed your link to the thread of the beta version of this software. At this moment the DEV testing is still progressing and the beta version is not stable yet for me to have a try. May I ask whether it is possible to run two versions of Amcrest Pro on the same Windows 10 laptop without any conflict in configuration. Also, will it be easy to uninstall the beta version in the case that I want to back out of it? Thanks.

@bowsprits01 Have you tried setting your sreen resolution to 1920x1080 100% ?

I've got a 26 inch 4K monitor and I can't use it at full resolution but run it at 2560x1440 with magnification set to the recommended 100%. This is effectively just a little less than 3840x2160 at 125% (can never get my head around making the page content smaller and then larger again??). Your settings equate to something less than 1920x1080 if my math is correct.

p.s. I'm using ASP V 2.03.0 without display problems. AFAIK I could uninstall and then re-install an older version without any problems.

@longedge
Hi, Thank you for your comment and help. I have followed your suggestion and set the display resolution to 1920x1080 at 100% - 125%. Brilliant! It works and I can see the form and the texts in ASP with current version V1.14.1 - built: 18-10-201.

If you can, please let me have the link to download ASP V 2.03.0. as the link to the thread above does not have the same version. Sorry, I am a newbie and I don't know my way around the forum yet. Thanks.

@davptz. Thank you for your assistance too.

That's good news :)

The version I'm running is the one linked to in the first post of the "ASP 2.0. Beta (Windows)" thread - https://amcrest.com/forum/amcrest-surve ... 13561.html as mentioned by davptz in a previous post (I think :D ).

My version, using that link to download and install, is 2.03.0 dated 2019-12-23

It has been totally stable as I use it, though others have shown how to crash it by leaving a still image up during playback. I don't do that, so it has never crashed for me.

And uninstalling gets rid of it completely, so yes, you can go back to v1.14. But you won't, V2 is lots better. :)

edited to add: caveat - I actually use Blue Iris. I still have ASP2 on my PC, but do not use it normally.
