Bought the $400 flagship 4k AI night color camera for my parents who have iPhones. Camera looks fine on my android app.
But on my mom's iPhone, the live view is zoomed in (not a variable zoom camera), and only show the bottom left quadrant of the frame. I can pinch to zoom out temporarily while I hold it, but not ideal at all. My mother may have font settings increased on her phone, not sure if that could cause, but it seems like the devs here can't master any use case that even slightly differs from the default.

So my guess is are asking about IP8M-TB2886EW-AI? If you are give me a little bit to see what I can find out. If that isn't the model let me know so I can try and source the data you seek and try and find a solution.

That's the model, I appreciate it.

Ok, In the iphone and the AVP2 app, and the camera, click on Device Details, *Top Right Cog* then click on Video Stream. and then setup the scale to Fit the Screen and see if that helps.. Sorry it took so long. Let me know if that helps or not?

So I guess I might say. Try the other option that is there lol. Fit the screen might be what is there by default so if it is then try the other option there Original size?

Thanks, I told her to try that, but I'll have to confirm when I go over there next. Do you have any thoughts on why this camera will give me an intermittent connection issue if I seek around the playback too much? I know, could probably be a ton of things, but my camera at home doesn't do it. On theirs, without fail, I can seek about a dozen times in the playback to various points in the timeline and then will get:
They don't have an NVR. Just PoE, with Amcrest brand injector. I'm wondering if the SD card could be the issue. I think it's a class 10 u3 256g. Maybe I'll try swapping that out.
Thanks

Slightly different setup than the one at my house that works great. They don't have an NVR. Just PoE, with Amcrest brand injector. I'm wondering if the SD card could be the issue. I think it's a class 10 u3 256g. Maybe I'll try swapping that out.

Not sure it is the card, it could be though.. My guess is that it might be an issue with some network switch/router out in the wild between the camera and the app. If it happens while away more often then it happens local to the device that is because there would be more hops between the app and the device. Also could be an issue within a time of day maybe. Higher traffic times could cause things like that as well.
But yeah if the card is older and not from one of the quality brands then the card could be at issue as well. Could be heat being generated while in use while also doing the saving and recording of the current events.. Loads of things that it could be.

Okay, I tried your suggestion on my mom's iPhone. It improved the the view a bit, but the issue largely persists:
Bug for amcrest dev if you exist:
"Camera footage displays zoomed in for iphone 12 user with iPhone font scaling setting not set to default"
I'm pretty sure my mom has some sort of text scaling turned on on her iphone. I couldn't find the setting, but I'm guessing this is the issue. The image looks proper on my dad's iphone as I don't think he has the font scaling turned on.Bug for amcrest dev if you exist:

Re: Amcrest pro view 2 on iPhone displays the bottom left quadrant of my 4k cam
I figured out the following compromised work around this morning!!
Set your iPhone 16’s “Display Zoom” to “Default” (standard) in the settings, not “Larger Text”. This is the workaround I just added to my AMCREST issue 568073, which has been with the developers since January.
AMCREST- With this information, please fix ASAP. We want the “Larger Text” option working with your apps. On my old iPhone 12 and iPhone 14, this was not a problem to have “Larger Text” enabled. Both View-Pro apps need fixing as other iPhone 16 video apps don’t have this problem. With “Larger Text” enabled, note that thumbnails display correctly, but Live Viewing and recorded video playback inaccurately crop to the lower right. I have added this info to my issue ticket.
