I was trying the viewpro 2app and adding devices, the scan shows my IP2M-841B camera and AD410 doorbell. I added the IP2M-841B camera no problem, but get "connection failed" when trying to add the AD410.
I know I'm entering the right password, I can open the old viewpro app (where it's working), go to device manager and view the username and password.
The AD410 is working on amcrest home app, viewpro app (the old one), and surveillance pro (on the computer). I removed it and added it again from the surveillance pro to confirm the password is working.
Is there something finicky to add the AD410 doorbell to the app?

Re: AD410 failed to add to viewpro 2 app
I am also experiencing this, and would like an official statement from Amcrest here.
I own two ash21 cameras, an ad410, and now an ip4m-1041b.
I cannot add the ip4m to the amcrest smart home app.
I cannot add the ad410 to the amcrest view pro 2 app in p2p mode.
I can add all 4 cameras to the amcrest view pro 1 app in p2p mode which proves all of the devices are capable, but quite frankly that app is terrible and probably abandoned.
I was 100% satisfied with Amcrest until I bought the ip4m, but now that I realize the horrible situation with the apps, I am extremely frustrated with Amcrest and will probably look for alternatives in the future.

Re: AD410 failed to add to viewpro 2 app
Amcrest ip cameras are not smart home cameras and have no access with SH app.. 1041 replaced the 1051 line of cameras and personally out of 841v3 941v3 I wouldn't replace my 1051 with it because it don't seem as a good quality built camera as the lower mp v3 version. 1041 works with AVP2 and is the app to use it with.
AD410 is not connecting to AVP2 even though P2P was only option offered when searching for it.
Yet for me have AD410 on Ai NVR and prefer SH app for doorbells so I have fast access to camera. If I had to guess the AD410 has extra security in the camera that is over advanced then what AVP2 uses and when someone in older app the option type wasn't a factor.
Because of different type of p2p used for ip cameras Amcrest has said they will not open SH app to cross traffic. It will be used for SH products only.

Re: AD410 failed to add to viewpro 2 app
As it is right now, I can access all of my cameras from the Amcrest View Pro2 app, but the AD410 doorbell can only be accessed when I'm on the same network (no p2p, only direct ip connection).
I can access my AD410 doorbell through the smarthome app even when I'm not on the same network. It does send video to amcrest servers, apparently.
Since that video is being sent to amcrest servers, it is entirely on them to make it available to me, or not, through their AVP2 app.
Similarly, the IP4M is also sending video to amcrest servers and I don't see any reason other than marketing to make it unavailable in the smarthome app.
If Amcrest is creating products that are siloed and can't communicate with each other they need to be explicit about this, provide a matrix or something so customers can be aware when they are making purchases. I've gone over the ad copy for the AD410 and the IP4M and even in retrospect it's not clear to me that I should have seen I was buying two cameras that wouldn't be supported in the same way by the same app and I feel burned by these purchases.
Oh, and of course, there's the Amcrest Cloud app, which only supports the IP4M. Four apps, each supporting a different set of Amcrest cameras.

Re: AD410 failed to add to viewpro 2 app
That is just the POINT SH P2P and AVP2 are not the SAME AND seeing they do make it available to you on your Smart HOme app they have done what was expected of the camera and the App.. There is nothing in the AVP2 that says it supports Smart Home devices.. That feature was added after some time after the releasee of the Smart Home products..
So Let me tell you why.. AVP2 and Smart Home are 2 different line of Products one is a THROUGH Cloud P2P server where the normal line of IP cameras like your 1041 is using a Traditional Pass Off connection and your footage isn't stored on or passed through the server without your paying for Cloud Service then there is a different thing with that altogether as you have already said..
So can't say that it has to do with anything Marketing it is because the 2 services are different all together.. I mean if you want your footage for normally security to pass through someone cloud server then that is your right but that isn't how the Amcrest system works or has ever worked..
Burned by your Purchases? How did anyone burn you? Smart Home says it works with Smart Home App only.. Ad410 page says using Smart Home app.. There is not thing like other part of the ASH line that says it can work (Limited compatibility w/ Amcrest View Pro, not compatible w/ Amcrest Cloud) Seems to be in the Print of the Products? So don't' know how you feel burned..
Want a 4 mp camera like the 1041 then you will want to look at the ASH41.. That is the Smarthome line of a 4mp Pan tilt camera..

Re: AD410 failed to add to viewpro 2 app
Are you an amcrest employee or are you just someone who donates their time?
Your response seems... a little bit like you're angry and drunk right now (lots of RANDOM CAPS and tyPOS) . Maybe we should resume this tomorrow.
