Load camera view on startup

Post by Pete6 »

I have only been using ASP for a couple of days so this may be a very dumb question.

I currently have 6 cameras working as I change from my old coax camera setup to IP cameras. I have a 16 channel NVR with 8 POE ports. Soon I shall have about 10 cameras and would like to be able to see all of them in a defined screen layout when I open the program. It is very annoying to open the program, go to Live View and then click on my NVR and then click on Stretch.

There has to be a way to make this quicker, easier and more convenient. How do I do this please?

So you will need to setup a Video Wall, (as it used to be called) Now called Surveillance Center, In there you will want to choose the Layout type, You can make a Custom layout if the normal setup one isn't going to work for you.

Click the + to add, Then Click on the Device and then the channels. One of mine I have a Large Layout for 1 camera and the rest are small and another one I have setup to display more then 1 NVR Recorder so I can view everything in 1 go without having to move between them.. Once you have it the way you want, Go to Live view then below choose the one you wanted to playback and click Start on the right and it will load what you setup under that name..

Thank you for your reply. I have tried and tried to make this work and I cannot. I even installed the Dahua SmartSPSS package which has the Video Wall you mentioned. I will just live with what I have now. This is a horrible piece of software. Dahua need to employ some UI / UX specialists and re0write their software. Honestly my old CMS DVR software easier to use than this..

I may end up buying Blue Iris.

Sorry to hear there is some issues. I am not sure if the way to do it is very well understood and I will admit that I have had issues myself in the past trying to setup Walls.. So I made a fast under 4 min Video of how I setup the wall. Sorry I am little Fast talking as I am trying to get it done as fast as I can to make the Video as Short as I can.. So I went from just the main menu to the setup and while not 100% of all things are shown because of the Recording software Glitch, I did get most of it to show. Only thing that didn't show up was the Main and Sub options but you will or can see it on your side and you get the idea of what I am talking about when the option in the bar goes from Sub to the Main.. Outside of that all other parts show up and I think maybe the Selection of the Wall type might not have shown up either but you can choose from the Normal to anytype that is offered I did a 8 window for sake of fast Video.. Pause and take steps as you need to make your wall. Hope this is found useful

Pete6,
To load all NVR cameras to Live View screen, just do this:
Click 9 or 16 format at screen bottom right.
Double click NVR device at left of screen.

To have ASP always start on Live Screen, do this:
Click gear icon at screen top right.
Set Initial Page to Preview, and Save.

Ahh. Google Photos links do not seem be working here. At least, I cannot see my own pics.

Thanks Jack that makes it easier for the people with 1 device to load or when you don't mind loading all cameras of more then 1 device

I personally don't use ASP much and when I do it is to view on different machines and not all channels are needed. But when I want to see all of my remote places at 1 time I have that setup in my Start View area.

So in that case others that are reading and have a 16ch or even 32ch recorder by double clicking on the device like Jack said you could choose a 6ch layout and then at the bottom there will be a button to press to advance past the current display of camera.

Thanks again jack7 for the solution.

Just to add to this thread, setting Maximum Behavior to Maximum Window
leaves the Windows taskbar visible too. I also checked Resume Last Preview too.

Thanks Revo and jack.
