Best way to setup remote viewing and recording

Post by earthshaker »

Since I now have two IP2M-841 cameras, one installed, one not...yet. What is the best way to ASP on a Windows PC 200 miles away from the cameras?
I have no issue with AVP on my Android phone.
We are headed to the other place this weekend, and I would like to get things set up while I am there.
I have read that Port Forwarding is one option, is there another, better option?

Well sadly the Real option used to be ASP however I have since heard and seen that the only option is V2 and for what ever reason P2P isn't working in it and that is very big let down.. Port forwarding is good but there is loads of things that would need to be done with DDNS and IP Tracking then there is Network Speed issues and all kinds of things. Sadly in ASP 1.41 you could use P2P like using in your AVP your using right now and it would work
Be Safe.

Running a VPN server on a router or a Raspberry Pi would be more secure than opening ports.
