Would anyone know if the ASH42 or ADC2W support RTSP?
If so would you know the RTSP path?
Thanks...

Re: Smart Home RTSP
hi @amcman and welcome to the forum.
try
try
Code: Select all
rtsp://ip_address/cam/realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=0
Re: Smart Home RTSP
Works great! Confirmed on both cameras...I also added the login:password and it also logged straight in...Thanks
Re: Smart Home RTSP
Would you also know if these "Smart Home" cameras are capable of browsing to them like with using a http//ip_address:port?
Re: Smart Home RTSP
When streaming the ASH42 to OBS to Youtube and the camera on wireless I am seeing a max resolution of 1080p. Is this camera able to stream the 2k wireless or is that only for a Ethernet connection capability?
Re: Smart Home RTSP
I guess I will answer my own question. It appears that OBS can only capture video at a max of 1080p. The cameras main stream can be configured from the app and then those settings will be transmitted to OBS. To answer my other question about these cameras doing http...I take it as no unless support is released for it.
Re: Smart Home RTSP
@amcman - I do know that the AD110 doorbell accepts a subset of the Amcrest/Dahua HTTP API commands. I suspect the ASH42 probably would too, but I have no experience with it.
I have tested many of the http commands that do a "get" to return information, and most actually work. I strongly advise against trying any API commands that would attempt a change to a configuration as that is known to disable the live display (requiring a factory reset) - or worse, brick the device. At this time, ONLY use SmartHome app to change configurations (motion, video res, wifi, etc.)
For example, to display in your browser the device's serial#, hardware version, etc.:
http://<ip_address>/cgi-bin/magicBox.cgi?action=getSystemInfo
To dump the entire configuration of the device to a config.backup file:
http://<ip_address>/cgi-bin/Config.backup?action=All
Note: my tests were done referencing a publicly available 2017 version 2.12 of the Amcrest API doc. I have not found anywhere an updated version of this doc that includes updates to the latest Amcrest firmware or includes SmartHome devices.

Thanks for the reply G-O....Good to see some of us out there pushing the envelope with knowing the full capabilities of these cool cameras.

amcman,
I have an Amcrest Home ASH21. There is no Web UI. I have used it with Amcrest View Pro and Amcrest Surveillance Pro(ASP) for viewing and Playback. I can export ASH21 video clips to PC using ASP. I mainly use Smart Home app because it is well designed and easy to use.
I also have used android TinyCam Pro for viewing. It can also push ASH21 stream to youtube but I haven't tried it.

Thanks Jack..looks interesting. These cameras were very cool to try out. I was changing settings on the camera and it locked up when connected on wifi. The focus is a bit soft on those cameras but now trying out the SV3C lineup. I like the fact that you can adjust the focus.
