NVR

Post by State1DMPL »

Good afternoon to all, I was seeking so professional advice and help on what would be the right NVR to purchase for my home. I currently have purchased 6 Amcrest 720P Pan/Tilt Wi-Fi PI cameras. I need to purchase a NVR with POE. I’m just not sure what model to go with. A unit that would have 6 ports or 8 would be good and from what I read should be AI compatible. There’s so many with a wide range of prices it’s a little confusing. HD would be cool but not the end of the world if it doesn’t have it.
I would also like it to have access to parnet WiFi controls. I’m
Looking to be able to limit my children’s internet access. I’m not sure if this is a feature within the NVR or if this is an added service in which you pay a subscription fee to access these controls and features.
Any feedback and suggestions would be greatly appreciated, and will thank you all in advance for your time and efforts as everybody’s time is valuable, enjoy.

Sincerely,

Hello and Welcome to the forum

So I don't know what you are asking for really. You start off that you have 6 720p camera that are Wifi, then you say you want a POE NVR for your cameras. However if you are going to keep with the WIFI format why would you want to have a POE NVR? Then talking about your Kids Internet access over the NVR? Not sure what you are asking for.

However for the best POE AI NVR right now for the Price in a 8ch as there are no 6ch offered. you would want the

However if you want a POE NVR that offers built in AI channels that you could use with your 720p cameras right now then you would want to look at this NVR and the Price reflects the extra service it offeres..

However to be fair if the 4216E-AI is there you might as well spend the extra 20 for the 8 extra ports for total of 16..

There is also a new one that today is the first time I have seen it being offered..
4416E-AI. However not sure that you would really want or need to spend over 500 for this NVR but is another option brand new offering and has some cool crazy specs.

I personally have older 4116e-HS and others in my fleet, I also have a 4216E-AI that is in a class of it's own. My guess is that I need to buy the 4416E-AI to see what is really different then the one I have now.
Be Safe.
