Hello,
I'm having troubles connecting camera to wifi.
If wifi name has spaces in name it will show only first word.
If I choose manual and enter wifi info manually, It says wifi not found.
Seems like software issue
Can't connect camera to wifi
Re: Can't connect camera to wifi
@CooleRnax Hello and Welcome to the forum
First thing I would try is changing your SSID. . There are many systems out there that won't work with Space in the SSID..

Re: Can't connect camera to wifi
Absolutely no, all systems except Amcrest work fine with SSID with spaces.
SSID can't be changed on my side.
This bug occurs only in smart home app.
Non smart home cameras which are using view pro app works fine with same wifi.

Re: Can't connect camera to wifi
Well personally I can't say.. You mentioned something that I know for a Fact that I had an issue with many years ago. 2013 or about.. It was with a Lorex wifi camera. So while there are many years since I have not used a Space in my SSID since and when I do use wifi for my Smart Home Camera I don't have an issue with a connection..
So you mention something I had issue thought I would offer some insight that has helped me..
I personally would never use a Router that I don't have access to the SSID or any Setup ability (Or lack there of)

Re: Can't connect camera to wifi
I don't have access to router.
I have worked with 50+ brands and never had issues with spaces in wifi SSID.
This is not an issue of the router, amcrest app needs to be fixed.
How can I report a bug?

Re: Can't connect camera to wifi
I just googled "SSID including spaces" and got some interesting results. Connecting to such SSID's is something which seems to have caused lots of people problems. It seems to be a particular problem with Android devices. Are you able to try connecting other than via an Android?
It's definiteley permissible to include spaces in an SSID but then as one result I saw says, "Special characters (spaces, periods, dashes, underscores etc) are allowed. Jumping out a 14th floor window is also allowed. Neither is a good idea. "

Re: Can't connect camera to wifi
Issue seems to be related only to ASH21-W.
Wifi setup for ASH43-W was successfull using android device.
Going to try setup with apple tomorrow.

Re: Can't connect camera to wifi
Well now that I know it is the ASH21 might want to also keep in mind that the camera can have issues if you try to connect to Eth0 and then connect to wifi after the fact. Doing so will cause wifi to no longer function out side the Smart home app.
So with ASH21 make sure to only connect VIA wifi from start to finish. Once a Cable in plugged in RTSP and all other ports close after a reboot. Only way to fix after this is to Reset back to factory from the Reset switch in the head of the camera body.

Re: Can't connect camera to wifi
Couldn't remember the model of Lorex I had. Son had to remind me he was one that bought it for me and geez I can't remember things sometimes from last week.. So looking up the camera and while it is old info thought I would share their post about why space isn't good idea in a SSID. Never said it couldn't happen, I just have dealt with a good few cameras that won't.. Anyway after that and learning that some cameras or systems don't like ! I no longer use that in my password either..
