Cameras are working on Blue Iris, but NOT on Amcrest App

Post by omalmals »

I recently upgraded my internet speed which required a factory reset to my router (Netgear Nighthawk r8000). Everything was working great after the reset and settings (pw, user, etc.) are the same. I could see the cameras working on Blue Iris and also on the Amcrest Smart Home app immediately after the router came back on. However, overnight ALL the cameras (all model ASH47-W) on the app are saying "the device is offline" (yet they are still working fine in Blue Iris). The router sees them, and confirms they are using 2.4ghz. Two of the cameras are high up in trees and with 5 ft of snow on the ground, impossible to reach at this point. And they WERE working. Any ideas on what may be happening or what I can do to get the app back working again? I use both BI and the App for different applications so I would like them both working. I tried to unplug and replug in one of the cameras, but it didn't seem to help. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Remove and reset up the camera in the app.. This sounds like an issue where the camera and server it was running in has found your new router something that is not normal to the server and may think there is a connection tap in play, So removed form App for your safety...

Thank you...but 2 of the cameras are inaccessible. Is there a way of getting them to connect to the app without climbing a tree, unscrewing the cover and pushing the button to connect to the camera's specific wifi? It already connects to my router's wifi as they are showing up in Blue Iris just fine. I tried reinstalling one with the serial number but it still requires the camera wifi to put it in the app, so that didn't work. Appreciate any ideas that might work so this 71 yr old doesn't have to climb 45 ft. up a tree :-).

I recently had a problem with my camera not connecting to the Amcrest SmartHome app and I found that the only way to correct it was to hard reset. I to was also dreading climbing a ladder and resetting it by pressing the button on the camera, but since I knew most if not all amcrest cameras are just rebranded dahuas I decided to download and try dahuas config tool and lo and behold it worked. In the dahua config tool you can factory reset your camera without having to climb a ladder. Hope this helps someone in the future.
