@pcabral, my doorbell did not experience a self reboot since all my nvr recordings are good and i don't have any gap in my nvr recordings except for the time i had to perform a hard reset on the 16th so the doorbell would come back online on the smart home app. the doorbell is on a legacy amcrest nvr2104.

Wow, this has been ridiculous. Somehow I managed to make up until sometime yesterday without going offline. I had to do the hard reset to get back online. What a joke. I really regret not getting the Nest.

There has been a lot of complaining about Amcrest. Some have suggested that Nest or Ring might have been a better alternative. Let me tell you what I have with Amcrest that I believe none of the alternatives can offer. I have three Amcrest IP3M 941 cameras and one AD110 door bell camera on my home network. I also have an Amcrest NVR, model NVR4108 on the network. And I have Amcrest Surveillance Pro software installed on my PCs. All cameras record continuous and event triggered video to the NVR. With Surveillance Pro, I can watch any of the cameras in real time, and I can watch playback of any recordings, continuous or event triggered. I agree that the AD110 has caused me some grief, but for the most part I have been satisfied. It is currently running perfectly. I have had more problems with my Android tablet that I use for event notification and adjustments to the AD110, than with the AD110. One severe complaint I have is Amcrest support. It is next to worthless. The techs answer questions with more questions that lead me to believe they don't have a clue about solving problems with Ancrest products. I get vastly more useful advice on this forum than from Amcrest support.

Just my opinion, show me another door bell camera that will do what my Amcrest setup does and I will be surprised.

Best regards, Jim

@hawkeye62 - For the most part, I agree with you in terms of the AD110 RTSP & NVR capability. I use this doorbell with Home Assistant and it really is working fine for the same reasons you mention and is not affected by this SH server outage.

However, we depend on the SH app to answer the doorbell remotely. Can Surveillance Pro do that? Without that, you just as well install a better camera with more sophisticated motion handling if all you need to do is record events or live stream and don't care about 2-way talk when doorbell pressed.

The main complaint from me is the complete lack of communications from Amcrest about their SH service, and meanwhile being repeatedly forced to factory reset while we we don't have any idea WhatTF is going on.

hi @jack7 , do you know if the huawei dmss app can answer the ad110 doorbell remotely? i'm wondering if the dmss app would be a good alternative to the amcrest smart home app.

Yeah, I have never understood why I would want to answer a door bell remotely. If that was a high priority, I would be more concerned about SH issues.

@hawkeye62 Right now, I don't need a centralized NVR service, and I'd be hesitant to throw more money at Amcrest. I do have 3 IP3M-941 cameras as well, and for the most part, I've been fine with them all being standalone.

What I need is a doorbell that works as is and doesn't require a kick in the ass every month or so to get working again. Today I had a UPS pickup scheduled and I didn't even get that captured with the doorbell. SMH.

Well it should be Recording on your doorbell if it was still running being off app don't stop recordings on the MSD card yet I could be wrong about that...
