Amcrest AD410 Notifications

Post by mboarman »

Approximately 2 days ago, I stopped receiving notifications from my AD410. I have an android phone. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app several times. I cut the power to the doorbell and rebooted several times. I have checked all my Android OS settings as well as the Amcrest AD410 settings. I even installed the app on a completely new device and it just won't receive any notification from movement or someone pressing the doorbell?!

Short of factory resetting the device, are there any additional suggestions? I can't figure out what is going on?

Thanks in advance!

Same on my end. I haven't received a push notification in a few days. Tried restarting my phone and clearing amcrest app storage. I was prompted to accept push notifications permissions again, which I did.

Events are registered in the app, but it seems as though an app update broke push notifications -- or perhaps a backend endpoint is no longer sending push events to the client.

Yep, I think you are correct. There is something wrong in the cloud. I did a factory reset on mine and no improvement. I know the unit is triggering because my Home Assistant automations are firing when the doorbell is pressed. Hopefully someone at Amcrest sees this post and gets things fixed on their end.

I'm in the same boat. Definitely seems to be on the Amcrest backend somewhere. I'm using Pixel 7 Pro FWIW.

I encourage everyone to fill out a support ticket about this issue for visibility:

I'm also using a Pixel 7. Just gave it a shot on my iPhone and push notifications are working for my AD410. Might have to try a different mobile client -- Blue Iris, maybe?

There will be an update soon as others have said they were told by support team, why try and push Blue Iris when others first may not even own software and then the phone app is 10 to boot. Little time and client update and free alerts again.
Be Safe.

So much for the update to fix the notifications. The version just posted in the app store that states: Fixed a Push Notification issue effecting some customers. Does nothing to address the problem I'm having on my android device. How long are customers supposed to stand by and wait for Amcrest to finally address this issue? This renders this device completely useless to me. I'm not one to vent, but when someone purchases a product to monitor their home. It at the very least should do that! If this isn't fixed in the next few days, I'm jumping over to ReoLink. Can no longer count on or support Amcrest.
