AD410 Doorbell Direct Powered

Post by marcusone »

I have a 24vac 40va transformer to directly power the AM410 doorbell.

1. Will this work fine?
2. Do I need anything like a resistor inline (Ring doorbell shows the need for a 50W 25ohm resistor when direct wired without chime).

Anything else I need to know about directly powering the device?

Thank you!

Hello and welcome to the forum

Hope you came and asked before connection?

In short yes that will work for your Doorbell camera. It is little over kill for 1 doorbell in a stand alone setting.. However please note Don't connect the Chime Kit and if the Option is still in the App setup when your setting up the Device for the first time and you come to the page of setting up a Chime for it at the bottom of the page is a SKIP please Skip.. Don't Connect the CHIME KIT that amcrest provides unless it will be working with a Indoor Chime

Then power it direct 1 wire to each side of the doorbell camera that is it...

Please note that if your going to run this with a doorbell chime it is best to source a 16vac transformer
Here to help the best I can.
