Ad110 - Power specs and Chime kit

Post by Superczar »

Apologies if this has been asked before - I searched and could not find anything specific.

I am upgrading to a AD110 from a Ring doorbell - largely because I am tired of the latency of the Ring and the lack of LAN capabilities.
With the ring, I had simply let it be battery powered (and without a connection to existing wired doorbell wiring/chime) - In the assumption that the phone notification would be adequate - but alas, the delays and latency issues make it less than adequate.

With the AD110 though, wiring it obviously becomes essential.
Now in my country, doorbells actually work direct over 220V AC. Obviously i cant wire the AD110 directly so I have two options:

1) Use a 18V AC stepdown transformer (or a 12V DC adapter) and wire it directly to the wires going to the doorbell - Easy enough but I will have to rely on the phone alerts again

2) Use a relay mechanism to power an isolated 220V AC or 12V DC chime

I have searched through the forums to find a wiring diagram/ tech specs for the chime kit but had no luck.
Would really appreciate inputs for 2 from Anyone familar with the internals of the chime kit .

Attached a rough wiring digram as well.
