My personal opinion is that if the PIR works and I am not constantly getting MD alerts from shadows, leaves blowing and cars passing by on the streets, they can leave the semi-circle as is and not go back to the grid overlay.

I guess I don't understand this.. While the software in the camera might talk about PIR I don't see any PIR on the camera so how could this feature be installed... I have many PIR devices and built some of my own over the years.. Only camera I own with PIR from Amcrest is my Trail Camera.. Another camera from a different company I own is a Dual Light Camera that has a PIR but seems not to work right because the Light comes on 20 times a night when there is no one there..

The PIR is shown at the top of the doorbell. You could try taping over it to see how the MD behavior changes.

If indeed the “fix” for excessive motion triggers was to remove video-based motion detection in favor of only passive infra-red detection, then the return to a more coarse three zone configuration would be correct. PIR cannot precisely “see” areas defined in the small grid-based zones. The grid is for video-based motion detection.

Interestingly, I found that the firmware just previous to this latest release has been very reliable for motion detection - few if any false triggers and a grid-based configuration. I plan to ignore the new update until more info is available.

Had something first wrote up and kind of wrong so I am going to rewrite it lol

First Thanks Gary for the Photo and I thought maybe seeing it was not working right first time around that it was something that wasn't active.. However I see it is on still the Old FW and the new FW so the whole 3 grid half moon thing has me wondering lol..

Then the PIR is a IR Sensor and in my mind not the Normal PIR that would be used for True Motion Detection in alarms systems... I did upload a picture in the last one and I will in this one as well to show the difference between the 2..

Also new to the new FW is that the DMS or Digial Media Server is no longer the ZEN cloud like it has been since the first time I looked at the Config file anyway... It is now on the amcrestview dot com server so it will be interesting to see if there is issues...

Also in my second doorbell it no longer says there is a new FW and shows that the 702 is the current FW...

ON the left a Active IR Sensor has 2 LED one for IR and the second as a Receiver for the Reflection kind of how a Touch less facet works and the one on the right next to the white housing is a PIR that is in alarm sensors and motion lights

FWIW, I suspect AD110 could now be added to Amcrest View Pro using P2P. ASH21 can be added to View Pro using P2P with current firmware. That did not work with earlier ASH21 firmware.

I had noticed this server name change right after last weeks Tuesday reboot. So it had nothing to do with the firmware update. At that time, nslookup showed that amcrestview.com was simply an alias to dms.zecamcloud.com as the exact same IP addresses were returned for both. Currently, amcrestview resolves to a different AWS IP, and only 1 address, not 2 as before. I doubt there is any functional difference but let us know if you find out otherwise.

i can live with the passive pir 3 zone view if it works better than the video based grid view to prevent false alerts but i can't currently see my outside to validate if the zones are properly set. is everyone seeing the same view like me?

also i tried adding the doorbell to my amcrestview account but no luck in adding. i also tried adding the doorbell as a p2p device on the amcrest surveillance pro and it didn't take.

I got a message in the app to upgrade, but when I go into the app, it says that I have the latest firmware: 1.00.00AC004.0.R.200702...

Do I have to do another hard reset to get this to update?

I would say this means that the 828 update has been pulled and 702 is now the "latest version" again.

I too no longer get the firmware update notice, and am still on 702.
