AD110 Doorbell works but won't let the app connect
Re: AD110 Doorbell works but won't let the app connect
What is the fix for this, my AD100 has been offline for days. I did a hard reset, deleted the doorbell and tried to re-add the device. It finds WiFi, but won't add the device to my account. This is ridiculous, I thought the lastest firmware update would fix the connection issuses, but it basically bricked by doorbell
Re: AD110 Doorbell works but won't let the app connect
I have exactly the same problem. Two nights ago at exactly midnight my doorbell went offline. I've attempted a hard reset. The wifi hotspot can be toggled on and joined by my phone, but the application complains that the device has left pairing mode (after a long delay) despite the fact that the LED indicates that the device is still in pairing mode. Amcrest support has been less than helpful, instead choosing to go back and forth asking questions that were answered in the original support request. Yes yes, my transformer is delivering adequate and consistent voltage, blah blah blah. This happened suddenly, it's not the wifi, the setup or anything else. Clearly a flaw in the hardware and/or firmware update process.
Given that they know this happens, they need to move to RMA. Not to mention the support is horrendously slow, so it's take two days of back and forth to get no where.
I'm about fed up.

Welcome to the Forum
There has not been any Resent updates to anything other then the App software for Phones.. The camera FW has been the same since 922 and might have been released in Oct but still that is couple of months now..
First guess would be Power Related or Wifi Related as that is only thing outside the camera it self that could go wrong. Sadly there is a lot that can go wrong over time. First is cabling issues if a cable is to small for a camera or device to run on it can burn out because the wire is like a FUSE however that isn't it because you say you can access to the point of trying to connect Well could be Transformer because while it might be giving the camera to get power up if the Transformer isn't working to Specs it might be that when the extra power is needed for making a connection to the network or turning on IR the camera if the Transformer is bad, going bad or under powered can have this effect. So while it was working for however long there is no telling if it was working smoothly or over working and has since made the transformer not functional..
Then Wifi. While I am going to guess that it isn't an issue but could be if there is a lot of Traffic in your area and your Router has the same CH set as to many other devices.. However I am going to guess the issue is failing Transformer or to small of wire.. Also keep in mind that if you were someone that had Cat cable ran to the doorbell area, have used a Multi Strand setup in the event that one of them strands breaks or is no longer in good contact the effective size of wire has been reduced and can cause an issue.. Using right size wire for distance to the device is important.

Re: AD110 Doorbell works but won't let the app connect
Thanks for the reply and the welcome.
I've metered it at the transformer and at the doorbell mount. I have a steady and solid voltage. No wire fault, no transformer failure.
I don't get to the point where I am able to have it connect to my router so it's not related to my enterprise Meraki mesh, because it won't pair with the app so that I can get it connect to my access point.
I CAN connect to the doorbell hotspot (which is further indication that the antenna is good and the power is good), however the app will fail to pair and claim the device has left pairing mode, even though the device LED is still spinning anti-clockwise.
It's a bit coincidental that more than one of us have posted this week about the doorbell being knocked offline at around the same time.

Re: AD110 Doorbell works but won't let the app connect
My guess and only a guess is that it might be an issue with Mesh network. If you still have an older Router I would try for the sake of trying to see if it will connect with a normal 2.4mhZ router. Outside of that guess it is only something that Support will be able to care for.. The ability for the Camera to still spin the LED only has something to do about system time out. Normally for me anyway pressing the button again will set it back up into a Hotspot again only had to do this once and that was because I was to far from my router for the camera so I had to connect the camera to a different Router with in range.

Re: AD110 Doorbell works but won't let the app connect
Thanks.
I had it setup on this network previously, and because I can't get to the point in the process where by I'm telling it to connect to my network, I think that's not related. If I do press the button again, it disables the hotspot. I've tried disabling/re-enabling at various times and when connecting to the hotspot. Always the same result, I can connect to the hotspot, but the app doesn't seem to know it.
Thanks for the responses. Right now I'm just waiting on support. They've stopped responding.

Re: AD110 Doorbell works but won't let the app connect
Well I will say that once I had an issue and had to Reset the camera 2 times to get it to work. Don't know why.. But what I also had to do is remove it from the app.. Reset the camera, Then once it came up I pressed the Hotspot, Making sure that I had my phone on the Network I was going to use, Then I Hit the Hotspot button, Pressed the + on the app to add new hardware, then went though the motion and second reset fixed the issue was having and let me connect the camera to network.. Seeing it don't take long to do a Reset and add back to app I would try that personally.
For the Steps.
Delete from Phone App,
go to Doorbell camera, Reset camera,
Wait for it to come on line, (at this time make sure phone is added to network you want)
Press camera for Hotspot it will say
Then + on the app, add camera
Just an idea.

Re: AD110 Doorbell works but won't let the app connect
I have the same issue of not being able to connect to hotspot. Its a brand new amcrest camera. Voltage and wifi are great. Unable to connect to hotspot in the app but both my iphone and android phone are connected to the hotspot and have an ip address provided by the amcrest doorbell hotspot but the app doesn't think my phone is connected. Did anyone find an answer to this issue?
