AD110 chime broken after firmware update AC006.0.R.200828

Post by vegas50000 »

After installing firmware update 1.000.00AC006.0.R.200828 the chime no longer works when pressing the doorbell button. Is this a known issue or do I need to enter a ticket for support?

So I did have this issue as well.. I am not sure why.. I did a Reset after the FW update but later noticed that some odd reason it didn't really Reset.. SO I did another Reset and after that Reset the Camera started working right

Also remember if you have done a Reset you will need to remember to setup that you have a Chime Connected. In fact if I remember right it asked me if I had Chime and gave me the option to pick the type and if Digital type it will need to be set for how long you want the power to go to the chime...

Also some people have had an issue in the past where they had to choose the wrong type of chime for it to work.. I have not had that issue myself.. I have mine set for Digital and have it set at 10 seconds for time to chime after button press...

I have the same issue with the mechanical chime after updating the firmware.
I thought about not downloading the latest firmware when it prompted me and now I regret doing so.
This doorbell rarely works for any more than a month at a time. Frustrating to say the least.

hi @Bobbio and welcome to the forum. i have a mechanical chime and mine works with setting at 3s. try increasing it to maybe 4s or 5s and retest. originally back in december 2019 i had to set my mechanical chime as a digital chime because setting it as a mechanical chime didn't work. newer firmwares now allow configuring the number of seconds to the mechanical chime setting which mine works at 3s. increasing the seconds would result in a second ding-dong sound.

I entered a ticket for Amcrest support and they never responded regarding this issue. I found the workaround to get the chime to work was to enable "Call Notification" in the device settings.

I have the same issue after 200828 update. Today, there was an update to 1.000.00AC006.0.R.200922 version, but the problem is not resolved. Mechanical chime and phone call notification does not work. Amcrest support told me few days ago that they are aware of this issue and will be releasing an update. I was hoping that 1.000.00AC006.0.R.200922 fixes it, but it doesn't.

I am not sure I have had both 828 and now I have 922 and I get calls on Button Push!? Have you done a Factory Reset?

Agh, turns out "Call Notification" option was disabled. I have no idea what it was set to in 828 version or how it got disabled. All seems to work in 922 now!

I can confirm that this is the correct workaround. I'm using the AD110 with a Honeywell DCP917S transmitter (which triggers my Honeywell wireless chimes when activated by doorbell).

I noticed that the chime stopped working after a while. After each Factory Reset it worked again but then again, stopped working after a while. I wasn't aware that the cause was myself disabling the call notification option. After reading this thread I enabled the option as workaround and the chime works again! Hopefully they fix this in a future release.

Other than this bug, really happy with the AD110; it works beautiful with my Honeywell Wireless Chime system and Shinobi Pro NVR docker container.

I am running the 922 firmware while I'm writing this.
