IP Cameras, Smart Plans, IVS, Fails to Work

Post by madmacks »

I have several IP cameras (IP8M-T2599EW) that have been configured for email alerts. I used the Video Detection option but it triggers way to often at night dues to moths being drawn to the IR emitter. So I set up a Smart Plan and the IVS option to use Tripwires to trigger events. This works randomly, or most of the time not at all. In my situation one camera is aimed up a driveway and the other is aimed down the driveway. One of the cameras has never triggered using the Trip Wire set up, the other triggers some of the time, but mostly does not trigger. This is not acceptable for a security camera. I'm accessing the cameras and doing the config thru the Web-UI, not any standalone application. Can someone help explain what the steps are to make this work? Amcrest, has many "help guides" that are different and inconsistent, and mostly out of date. HELP?

Don't know the camera, My guess is that it is fully AI camera? *meaning it has Filters for Human and Vehicle?*

How is the placement of the Tripwires? If they are to close to the edge of the cameras end of view the camera might fail to detect that there was a cross of the tripwire!..

In my Driveway my Ai Camera is setup with 2 different tripwires so I can get emails of humans and not vehicles.

You could try a Zig Zag setup of tripwire to aid in the ability of the camera to capture an event in a tight area.
Be Safe.
