Does the AD410 have a web UI?

Post by cc4005 »

Just received and set up an AD410 doorbell cam. All working via app, blue iris, Amcrest IP Config, but can't access via web browser. It brings up a blank page titled WEB SERVICE with no error. Does this mean it doesn't have a web UI, or might I be doing something wrong? Would have expected a 404 if it didn't have a web interface at all.

[edit]
Based on this post I'm guessing it doesn't have a web UI, same as the AD110. Would appreciate confirmation.

I have not found a web interface.

The SmartPSS desktop application ( https://dahuawiki.com/SmartPSS ) can access many more settings of the AD410.

You see manufacturers seem not to understand what the real needs for a customer and assumes a design path that many are not happy about.
This is the case with doorbell cameras and other wifi cameras.
As an Amcrest user (very happy with the ip cams and the NVR from Amcrest) I use my cameras locally and tried and uninstalled the P2P app because my internet connection is not that good and I really don't have the need to have it on my phone.
I just installed the AD410 on my system after dealing with that and its poorly design doorbell system (that came with a doorbell ringer box that I ended not installing because it doesn't allow enough current through the doorbell to ring it and poor instructions that I had to find out that I have to turn on the mechanical doorbell for it to work on a mobile app).

I understand why they chose wifi but using a could connect and mobile app to manage it is the wrong direction for wifi cameras and should be like any other security camera that can be setup without internet connections. Not every place in the world has an internet connection where a wifi camera would be nice to install.

Doorbell cameras should be like ip cameras. I will replace this doorbell camera when someone comes out with a poe doorbell that acts like a ip camera instead of a toy doorbell cam sold by Nest or Arlo, Ring, etc. Also, the push notifications are useless to me as my doorbell picks up everyone walking by on the sidewalk in front of the house. Now, I have a useless doorbell app I have to have on my phone because I can't administer it through the local network.

I'm giving you guys feedback as a user and why wifi doorbell cameras are engineered incorrectly. Consequentially, I am also a professional security camera installer and wifi cameras are the biggest failure in sales and the highest returns or replace within 6 months.
