AD410 Doorbell - Should it call the app when pressed?

Hello. First-time poster, but long-time Amcrest camera user.
I just purchased and installed an AD410 doorbell. Everything works from a camera, app and ringing the chime, but I (maybe wrongly) expected the doorbell to "call" the app so that I could answer and speak to the visitor whether I'm at home or away.
I do get Human notifications on my phone, but I don't get "doorbell rang" notifications. All the push notifications are turned on, the only thing I have turned off is motion. I use Blue Iris for the surveillance aspect.
I have confirmed all the iPhone notification permissions are turned on.
