Hi pals,
not too long ago I "upgraded" from using SD cards in my cameras to an NV2104E. Now that I have a need to use it, I'm really discouraged by the functionality. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? The "all-in-one" user manual doesn't help things either.
First off, I use the web interface to view and manage. Maybe there's something different I don't know about that will give me better results?
I'm trying to download a specific file for a specific camera. Looking through the user manual, I *should* have a tab that allows me to specify a path for downloaded files. Nothing in my web management UI. No way to create clips that I can find. I can list individual files on the right side pane, but the only actionable item seems to be the ability to "lock" files. No download, save, anything at all.
Did I buy a lemon? Should I abandon it and go with something else? This is really disappointing.
Also, in the UI, there's no speed control, no jump buttons, nothing. Only hunt-and-peck on the time bar and, if you miss something, you must hunt-and-peck your way back to the spot.
No firmware updates seem to be available. Sigh.
p.s. now that I think about it, I think I had to connect a mouse and maybe even a monitor to the device to do the initial config. Is this the way I would retrieve files from this? And, if so, can someone recommend a replacement NVR where I can do everything from the WebUI, like I was able to do when I had SD cards in the cameras?
Thanks.
NV2104E: Download files?
Re: NV2104E: Download files?
So I am going to guess that you talking about a hs model?
I would look at using ASP or Edge in IE mode.
So these pictures are from one of my POE Amcrest NVR's One picture showing Motion and other full time recording on a different camera that I have setup in Sub channel that is why I am showing 2 pictures one for motion events on the bar and one what it would look like with full time recording setup.

Also thought I would show what it would look like in ASP on a NVR that has Sub Channel setup to record full time. IN ASP you can speed up, go frame by frame and all the cool things as well

Re: NV2104E: Download files?
Brilliant, thanks! That gets me step mode and the ability save clips (although it seems the only way I can assign times to clips is to type the start/stop in manually, but that's OK). Still can't find a way to download individual files, but that's OK. Sucks that the IE mode setting expire after 30 days (I still can't find a workable workaround for that).
I imagine all the Amcrest NVRs still require this kluge? Are you aware of any that have HTML5 or another base that doesn't require the workaround?
Thanks again!
(btw, I have deja vu- pretty sure I asked this before and ended up in IE! Wish my memory wasn't getting old!!

Re: NV2104E: Download files?
All the ones I know of running in Chrome and Edge normal seems to lack the great IE layouts. Asp would be best long term as long as the person is using Windows
