Need help with 4K Night vision issues
Need advise. Some of my 4K cameras night vision comes and goes from day to day. When they are not working the IR LEDs flash once every few seconds. The flashes can bee seen in adjacent camera feeds. I have the correct Amcrest 4 camera, 4K compatible power supplies, used the cabling supplied with the 4K DVR. Swapping with a new camera, cable, or power supply does not correct the issues.
Re: Need help with 4K Night vision issues
I am going to guess there is one of two issues out side the Camera being bad However seeing you said you swap out camera, wire and power supply didn't solve the issue so I am going for the one and first idea that came to mind..
Using the Camera in Smart IR has made your camera upset and not able to work as expected.. I come to this with what I have in mind from your post.. That you can see in another camera that the IR flashes once every few seconds to flashes can be seen from adjacent cameras..
This gives me the idea that the camera Smart IR is taking the IR from the other cameras and is trying to adjust for the picture of quality as it should.. Way to Test and maybe solve this issues is 1 of 2 things.. First you could via the WebUI of the camera log in, after it loads, click on Setup, Then Camera comes up go the Configuration and then click on IR or something that your camera would be set for your IR light.. When that menu comes up pick Manual over Smart IR then set around 30 or 40% and test out that and see if you have blinking IR.. IF I understood your post you said you changed out Power supply, cable and camera so my guess with all that info that the issue is IR is on Smart IR and can't get a good setting with other cameras in IR mode...
Second way to fix this issue would require a IR Blaster and this will let you setup 1 place or maybe 2 that has IR light for all your cameras and turning off the IR in your camera and let it work with just the Blaster...
I have tested many cameras and many types of IR for many years... Smart IR is one of the best out there in relation to not washing out someone or an area in the FOV.. However it can also have issues if there is other IR in its FOV to the point where it can make the IR very dim or not function at all..
While I don't have any footage of this that I did last week.. I have a 841 that is outdoors and protected from the weather.. I don't expect anyone to install a indoor camera outdoors it is not smart Idea.. Anyway while I was working with my Replacement camera that is going work in the area the 841 is at.. I was testing out some settings for trying to get things just right for my VIEW AREA.. The 841 went from being able to see over 150' to not being able to see much past my deck stairs... This was because the IR from the other camera was causing the 841 to change it shutter and all other settings that were set to auto and changing the IR intensity.. So because I wanted to double check for a night or 2 with both cameras running I used my WebUI to change my 841 from Smart IR to Manual only issue with this is anything that would get close to view can wash out because without being able to turn down the IR inside the camera it can wash out a face before the camera has time to make adjustments to the camera settings...
